Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 24, 2007 11:34 am Here's a new thread, dedicated to help users and abusers of "My Virtual Home" (MVH) software. Don't know what MVH is? Check this thread for some great pictures from Matt Walker: http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=1969 MVH has been developed in Australia, and is provided free (they charge $9.95 for postage is you order from their web site). More information can be found here: http://www.myvirtualhome.com.au It's pretty cool software, not too difficult to learn, and turns out some great looking designs, complete with furniture and fittings. It does have a few little quirks.... so I'd encourage users to share their knowledge! Cheers Perry Re: My Virtual Home - support, ideas, tips and tricks 4May 24, 2007 10:54 pm miagi,
The picture needs to be hosted somewhere on the web. If the image in question is not already on the web, there are some web sites that provide this service, such as ImageShack. Once the picture is hosted somewhere type in your post: where webaddress is the webaddress of the picture eg. www.abc.com/image1.jpg. Hope this helps. If you get stuck respond and I'll point you to other more detailed descriptions. Cheers, Casa Re: My Virtual Home - support, ideas, tips and tricks 5May 24, 2007 11:41 pm Thanks casa2 for your reply.
I regularly use UGBox to host pics for other forums, but HOMEONE wont accept any hosted links. Also it appears some of the forum topics will allow simple upload of pics from a location on your hard drive to the thread, but apparently not in the Building subject forum etc. Pretty stupid to make posting relevant pics so difficult. Great forum but being let down by making things more difficult than needed. Will post some pics later perhaps. Re: My Virtual Home - support, ideas, tips and tricks 7May 25, 2007 12:27 am Welcome to the UGBox Image Store!
The UGBox Image Store is a free image storage service for members of the Overclockers Australia forums. It is only available to the OCAU and UGBox forums. Please don't try to link Image Store images from other forums or sites. will give imageshack a try. still would be easier to just upload the image as i am able to do in the kitchen forum Re: My Virtual Home - support, ideas, tips and tricks 8May 25, 2007 12:35 am Even though UGBox request "Please don't try to link Image Store images from other forums or sites", if the internet address (URL) is visible, it should be possible to linto it. the painbrush is great 9May 25, 2007 10:56 am Hello everyone
One feature in MyVirtualHome is where you can copy any colour or surface and just paint it on another - even if not originally available for that surface. It can be very useful! since I have been upto designing in cad, it works fine to me. additionally, myVirtualHome simply rocks. Simply works as creative as your mind can be. I love to share more about it in future with my designings. Thanks Sheena Re: My Virtual Home - support, ideas, tips and tricks 15May 25, 2007 4:53 pm Hi Sheena,
Welcome to the forum and we look forward to seeing your designs too! Matt Re: My Virtual Home - support, ideas, tips and tricks 16May 31, 2007 12:51 pm Here is a couple of design ideas from my portfolio in MVH....
This was for a flat block we found that we liked in Rowville. All the plumbing was kept in one area and the design has 4 bedrooms and a seperate home theatre... This was for a block that we found and liked in Lysterfield. It had nearly 8meters of fall left to right, but the views were magic. Although you cant see it there is a seperate home theatre underneath the house at the rear of the garage. Lets some some more ideas posted here!! Matt My Virtual Home Help Required 20Jun 21, 2007 5:32 pm Does anyone know how to modify an existing floorplan in My Virtual Home? I have a great floor plan which is based on a display home we have seen, but it is too wide for my block of land and I was wanting to reduce the width of the floorplan.
Also does anyone know with the scaling of the floor plan is that in square metres? Am I suppose to move the survey pegs to the diagonal walls of the floor plan so that the scale is correct? Regards, NoviceBuilder 4 2716 Just be careful with building stability during construction, that is when the structure may be weakened, refer to your engineering drawings for stability methodology. 1 6172 Thank you so much.
