A fair bit has happened recently... our ceilings and cornices are in and the float has been finished. We had a bit of a drama early last week with our ceiling recess in the front family room. They were going to put a cornice in there which reallllllly wouldn't suit (and wasn't included in our documentation) etc. After a very early visit to site to make sure the ceiling guy knew not to put them up there and several phone calls to the builder it was all sorted out. I have to say they were fantastic about it, even though it caused them more work and hassle. Nothing else happened for the rest of last week but they started the white plaster in one of the spare rooms yesterday. The doors were also delivered yesterday and we are scheduled for lockup today. We did a quick driveby this morning and a tradie was there, the plasterer I hope! Still waiting for them to finish the external render, I really can't wait for that - sick of looking at the ugly bricks!!! I've taken heaps of photos but haven't had time to upload them - tonight there will be pics!!!! Re: gurlistar building Park Lane - Lockup today!?! 247Feb 23, 2010 11:46 pm We managed to dodge lockup today... I'm pretty happy about it as we can still get inside and see what's going on, and feel the space etc. The white plaster started yesterday and the plasterer was back at the crack of dawn this morning to work through some more. Here's the front of the house, mostly done. Oh how I love this space, its like my own wonderful light box. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The hallway from the garage looking to the front. To the far left is the laundry, the other room is a spare bedroom. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ No more has been done to the external render yet - hopefully soon. More detail on the blog We're getting to the point where we just can't wait to move in to our new place, hopefully not too much longer! Re: gurlistar building Park Lane - Lockup today!?! 250Feb 24, 2010 11:23 pm You will have the best view out of that front area Gurlistar!!! I love it Especially all the natural light that will be let in Gorgeous!! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: gurlistar building Park Lane - Lockup today!?! 251Feb 24, 2010 11:58 pm Heyy! Believe it or not the front of the house, especially under the verandah feels about 5 degrees cooler than anywhere else. It faces north and we get a great breeze through We were locked up today!!!!! No more internal white plaster was done today though.. or external render... They just whacked on the two exterier doors and now we have to peer in! It's a wierd feeling A bit of a landmark though, it has felt like a long time coming Re: gurlistar building Park Lane - Lockup today!?! 252Feb 25, 2010 12:08 am That *weird* feeling is actually ANNOYANCE gurlistar!! Annoyance at no longer being able to wander through at will I so cannot WAIT to get back into mine!!! And it'd be nice to actually walk through the front door too, and not have to climb through window viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. I'm not a fan of the peer through the window. I wish we could get through a window, ours have deadbolts booooos The front door is only tacked on, its a timber door with glass. No lock or handle on yet. But there's a fragile sticker. Everyone needs a fragile sticker Re: gurlistar building Park Lane - Lockup today!?! 254Feb 25, 2010 12:13 am I think i'm going to be needing a fragile sticker before too long viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Unfortunately, we aren't busy moving yet.. although we've been really busy trying to pack, choose paint colours, get things organised etc but no, no moving yet. We do however have our PCI date! It's 27th April so not long now. There isn't much left to be done before then: we are just waiting on the blinds, door handles etc to be installed and some other minor bits and pieces... that's about it I think. Here is the main living area Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ and the kitchen Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Sorry I don't have enough time to post more pics here - there are heaps more on the blog so feel free to check them out there!! Re: gurlistar building Park Lane - update & PCI 27th April ! 258Apr 19, 2010 3:15 pm Good to see you are nearly there I like the look of the door and the kitchen colours are looking good too. It reminds me of how clean everything looked before we moved in and put crap everywhere Built with New Generation (Summit Homes) We own land!... with a slab on it! Plus a shell of a house with stuff inside ! We hired Darbecca to do every stage inspection, and I strongly recommend them to anyone that asks me. They were amazing.
