Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 21, 2009 11:57 am I'm trying to work out how much concreting I need to get done and would like some help! Here is a plan of the areas - the blue lines are the outline of my block and the read lines outline here I am thinking of concreting. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The space between the garage and the fence is 2m and I'm unsure what to do with this as I need to have a minimum 50cm garden along the driveway to the boundary so I am happy to leave all that space as a garden bed, but then I am going to have a gate between the garage and the fence for rear yard access and that's where I also plan to store my bins etc (behind the gate) For that side path area, I was thinking maybe Lillydale toppings or something, or should it be concreted too? concreting it would add another $1,000 or so to the cost, but I have no idea how much Lillydale toppings would cost 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' Im thining if its something you will be able to see past, then you might want to put a path of concrete along the garage. If not, perhaps lillydale toppings and pavers. Although, if your putting your bins there... you may want concrete in that area as you wont want to be dragging your toppings everywhere when you wheel the bin Is the area behind the garage an alfresco? And then you can put some nice plants? And make it go right to the end of the alfresco concrete so it doesnt look disjointed. Does that make sense? Ahh yeah that makes sense, however I want to be able to use the side way to get a trailer etc into the backyard so I would need it the whole width. I think lillydale toppings would give it a softer look and feel and break up the concrete a bit too and would be a lot cheaper! Good idea! I just rang Aumanns in South Morang, $80 cubic meter for lillydale toppings and $18 delivery and for that space he said I would only need 1m so I assume crushed rock would be a similar and then maybe hire one of those whacker things for a weekend too. I've spent all morning ringing concreters and fencers and trying to work out how much everything is going to cost me to see what I can afford to get done before I move in or around move in time and what has to wait - It's been a productive and busy morning! Someone for concreting is Mark 0418 341 466. Thanks, I called Mark this morning and someone else someone on here recommended and they had similar prices but it comes down to the site as well and excavation required. Prices were about $60-$65 inc GST Per sqm for coloured through concrete. Mark quoted base price of $55 but that didn't include GST 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.'
