Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 19, 2009 11:39 am Finally after one big roller coaster of finding land for our chosen house, we've found a block to suit in Vantage Point. We've paid the initial deposits for both land and house. We sign for land on Wednesday with settlement in Nov/Dec. Construction of our house will begin in Feb/March. We're really not fussed when we move in, we're just glad (at this point) that we've found somewhere we love. This is our first home and are nervous but bloody excited!! 2 weeks ago we weren't even thinking about getting a house. Then we realised we could afford it comfortbaly so we took the plunge. Such an awesome feeling and it's still a shock. I keep pinching myself *is this really happening*. Might start a blog as things progress. Looking forwrad to sharing the journey with you and learning as much as we can. Life is; then you tell yourself a story. We are in VP to in stage 6. We only settled in the last week and hopefully construction for our H house will start in the next 6. We are a bit like you- can't believe it is really happening....We sold our house last year and it took us 12 months and an extra baby to work out what we wanted to do. Can't wait to see your progress. Building a H3nl3y Charleton- its a home, not a house. Re: Our house in VP 6Jul 21, 2009 6:04 pm to all the other VP's- Do you know if there are in covenants in regards to driveways? After all the dramas we have had in finding a concreter willing to do the job, our landscaper suggested asphalt- at least he can quote us. I have read the estate guidelines and it dosen't say what they have to be made of, but wondering if anyone has heard anything? Thanks in advance! My husband is a stonemason and his Dad and brother are chippies so we are going to do it ourselves after handover. I personally don't want to do this cos i had to wait 12 months for my verandah last time, but i have negotiated....were getting the gardens done by someone else. What are you building if not the Charlton? Building a H3nl3y Charleton- its a home, not a house. Re: Our house in VP 10Jul 21, 2009 7:30 pm Well done oze, taking the plunge. Hope you can swim, the water can be smooth as glass one minute and the as rough as guts the next. I look forward to following your thread when it starts. Congratulations on your choice to build. I searched before in H1 blog, among the Hen%iers, not yet a Charleton. You may be the first one I know that house cos it is of similiar size I'm after Did u go with the facade in the Mernda display or changed a lot of items/ upgrade? cheers Re: Our house in VP 13Jul 22, 2009 4:44 pm No we went with a different facade than the Mernda one. Didn't upgrade much, we just got the larger Garage option and larger dining area. We are more focused on having a bigger back yard for the kids so didn't extend the house too much. After living in a massive house that needed to be cleaned everyday im kinda glad this one is a bit smaller! Building a H3nl3y Charleton- its a home, not a house. Re: Our house in VP 15Jul 23, 2009 2:49 pm Big Congrats! Very exciting for you! Thanks for finding out about the driveways for me- one more problem solved. Much appreciated. I will have to keep an eye out for you roound the estate. Our block is still just dirt but we seem to be up there at least three times a week! Building a H3nl3y Charleton- its a home, not a house. of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them. I find it odd that lawyers wouldnt be willing to take on the case, given CCT evidence and… 1 14682 "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 37 14045 |
