Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 14, 2009 12:23 am Another one very simmilar As the title says can you recommend a septic tank supplier/fitter? We have just bought a small rural/residential block in chittering. We need to fit a ATU to meed with shire approval. Anyone had any experiences good or bad? Other than warranty/price are there any questions I should be asking? Thanks Steve Re: Perth Area – Can you recommend a septic tank supplier/fi 2Jul 14, 2009 9:49 am Hi HangOver
We also have to have an ATU. The Shire told me their preferred system is Ecomax: http://www.walliswater.com.au/our-brands/ecomax/ I am also looking into Biolytix: http://www.biolytix.com/index.php They are very helpful (when they have your correct contact details ) and will send an email info pack with site requirements and estimated costs. The Health Dept. Website has a list of approved systems and installers in WA: http://www.public.health.wa.gov.au/3/663/2/aerobic_treatme.pm We haven't picked one yet. Need to way up the cost of maintenance, running costs and annual inspections etc. Oh and here is my thread when I asked the same question http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=14271 Re: Perth Area – Can you recommend a septic tank supplier/fitter 3Jul 14, 2009 3:22 pm Hey thats excellent thanks. It looks like you are building in Chittering “proper” on the east side of the GT Northern Hwy? We JUST signed for our block on the west side, chittering rise, its 99.99% trees & bush so needs a lot cleared. Hope you don’t mind me asking you a few questions? I think the ATU are about 12k fitted does that sound about right? Is there a big install cost difference between the Biolytix and Ecomax? I see you got a water tank installed we need to get one of 150k L, can I ask which supplier you used? We also considered building a shed on the block and living in that while we built our house. Have you had any ball park figures for the install of the shed I thought it might be a lot when you include a bathroom /kitchen areas. Did you put insulation in the shed and/or an air conditioner/heater? Where the council OK about your plans for living in the shed while yours is being built? Did it need any special requirements from the shire because you are living in it? OK I better stop there I have loads of questions but don’t want to ask too many in on go Thanks Steve Re: Perth Area – Can you recommend a septic tank supplier/fitter 4Jul 15, 2009 11:42 am Hey Steve Have sent you a PM CDC Housing Code 3 When to apply Floor Area external face of wall vs Gross Floor Area internal face of wall.
