Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 13, 2009 5:40 pm Hi,I'm building with Henley-Verve Circa Vk1, we're in the beginning of lock up stage now, pre-wiring for theatre were completed today and the installer advised me to put the powerpoint inside the roof so it looks neater, I rang my admin who discussed it with my ss and said its not allowed as it will be a fire hazard but how come when i informed the theatre people they can do it for an extra $160 also what will happened to my other 2 powerpoints supposed to be for the roof space for our x-mas lights and lights to access the roof for storage...they're n the ceiling on our electrical plan. Our fault we did not discuss it properly before we sent the final electrical plan..now we have an ugly switch on our study and kitchen ceiling... I felt like saying that to my csr, but I dont want to start an argument also she's saying its too late to make changes now:( How could it be too late?the changes Im only asking are to put them on the roof space instead of exposed on the ceiling, the plaster is yet to start on monday and electrical has not been completed. With regards to my other 2 powerpoints we specifically mentioned to our csr that we want it on roof space but on our electrical plan it was written as dpp to ceiling..our fault for not checkng...well I guess will just change them after handover, hoping it will not cost us that much. Re: Is it fire hazard to put powerpoint inside the roof? 7Jul 13, 2009 8:24 pm Dont forget the power points that are also in the ceiling for the exhaust fans in the bathroom, we had them for 8yrs in the previous house and it didn't burn down......... http://take2-customdesigndownslope.blogspot.com 07-10-09 omg they have cut the block 14-05-10 we finally have the keys Re: Is it fire hazard to put powerpoint inside the roof? 9Jul 13, 2009 9:50 pm dvs_dk Don't most new homes have their heating installed in the roof space?
