I like the feature tiles. sorry, can't offer any advice on the final inspection, but hoping someone will be able to help. Thanks Rowena. Probably have to look at other threads and try to absorb as much as possible.. Re: Our home.. Is that a sign I should worry bout? Re: Our home.. The Caraway 175 from JG King 44Oct 21, 2009 4:19 am Hi Alexl What stage are you up to? I think we are about the same - tiling about to start? For the inspection, go on to some of the websites of companies that do these inspections and you may pick up some tips on what to look for. If you are worried at all, I suggest you pay for a qualified inspector? Sorry can't help more with what to look for and good luck! Cheers, Lee Re: Our home.. Cheers, Lee Hi Lee, We are at fix-out stage and moving very quickly to handover soon. I reckon after the final inspection on Monday, they will do all the touch ups, and organise the floating floor boards to be installed, and will be looking at handover around mid next month. Where are you building mate? Cheers, Alex Re: Our home.. The Caraway 175 from JG King 46Oct 22, 2009 4:37 pm Hi Alex We are building in the Western suburbs. We are up to the tiling stage and fit out - not sure how long that all takes but the tiler told us he would possibly be there a week. So it may not be long now until we have handover! They said 4 weeks to handover but I think maybe not - although the tiler is working quite fast. Cheers, Lee Re: Our home.. The Caraway 175 from JG King 47Oct 24, 2009 4:00 pm Hi Alexl, all looks great! I love the pics of your little boy in the bath too cute! What's your wall colour? I'm having a really hard time deciding whether to have hog bristle 1/2 or 1/4. Yours looks like it's got a bit of colour without being too dark... hmmm decisions decisions Re: Our home.. The Caraway 175 from JG King 49Oct 24, 2009 8:30 pm thanks lee! it's so hard to imagine what colours will look like without seeing them. it's hard to even tell in photos. I think we'll go with 1/4 strength and natural white - i'm scared of it looking too dark Re: Our home.. The Caraway 175 from JG King 50Oct 25, 2009 6:11 am Oh no dilla, it certainly does not look too dark in the 1/4 strength. We used builders ceiling white for the roof and we used the Hogs Bristle 1/4 for all other surfaces including the skirtings and architraves. It looks like a nice soft colour but not too dark at all. This colour goes very well with earthy tones but I think it would go well with any colour as it is an earthy coloured white! We are also using very dark brown against this colour with our kitchen cupboards being very dark brown and white and our shutters and blinds in a dark colour which is almost a black/brown. Hope this helps - don't be afraid to use this colour, it is lovely. Re: Our home.. The Caraway 175 from JG King 51Oct 25, 2009 9:23 am leebee1 Hi Alex We are building in the Western suburbs. The tilers are very bz this season, as it took ours 3 weeks to get them in and complete the job. I am sure your house will be on schedule. For us, we still have the floor boards to be installed and it will only be after the final inspection and touch ups. So I reckon the handover for us might be 2nd or 3rd week of next month. Yours looks like it's got a bit of colour without being too dark... hmmm decisions decisions Hi Dilla, The color is called Milkweed. We love it and relieved when we saw the final product. It is very difficult to imagine how it looks like on the wall by looking at the sample color from the showroom. Hog bristle seem to be a popular color and it looks nice. But we had recommendations from the color specialist saying we should go for a lighter tone color, so that if we think the color is too light, we can change to a stronger tone, but not the other way round. cheers, Alex Re: Our home.. The Caraway 175 from JG King 54Nov 12, 2009 3:45 pm How did the inspection go? Any new pics? Some people don't have time to do the job right the first time, but seem to have plenty of time to fix their mistakes. Build Thread Re: Our home.. The Caraway 175 from JG King 55Nov 30, 2009 11:57 am Hi Alexl, Hope you're enjoying your new home . I saw that you used Haymes Milkweed for your internal walls... just wondering how "yellow" it comes out in real life? Was thinking of Indian Sand, but this colour seems that fraction less yellow... We're having a greeny brown/cream colour scheme and looking for a neutral colour to match... Thanks, Roz 1 7948 I would never build with Fowler homes.
