Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 87Oct 15, 2009 6:20 pm We rang our finance lady today and asked her for an update ..... I don't know if she rang my husband back because he is at work on a late shift. All we are waiting for is the final nod, grrr! We went up to have a look at the site the weekend (haven't been up for a couple of weeks I think I got a bit fed up with waiting to be honest) and was amazed at the progress. Your build is moving along so fast, but it's looking good though. Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 88Oct 15, 2009 8:35 pm I feel your pain Ozzy, it's a very frustrating time isn't it. Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Updating my update 90Oct 28, 2009 6:06 pm Well I've been a bit quiet lately but thought I'd better update you all. It's been what seems like ages for the bank to pull their finger out. Finally today, after supplying everything apart from my bra size, we finally got the go WOOHOO! Next, we went for the colour appointment mths ago but Coral only received it today and it wasn't complete. So, tonight I have to check it all and make sure it is correct before sending it back - anyone know if Oyster linea is standard? They want to charge us extra for it and seems it's only for the laundry ...... why not choose something else? I guess this is the only thing now holding us back (crazy eh?). Not gone that smoothly for us so far but hopefully it will get better. Oh and for anyone that's interested: $240 extra for the Gainsborough Trilock 3 in 1 lever locket $640 extra for double Hume doors $628 extra for Laminex Blackened Linewood Kitchen cupboard etc - horizontal $86 extra for Oyster Linea (for 1 cupboard) Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 91Oct 28, 2009 6:25 pm Hey ozzy, great that you finally got the go ahead from the bank they charge you extra for the oyster linea only in the laundry because it has a grain (eg lamiwood) and the cabinetmaker they use offers some lamiwoods discounted for the bathroom and ensuite cabinets, however using it anywhere else costs extra (i did the same as you - chose oyster linea for my bathroom and laundry cabinets, then realised it would extra and changed it to stipple hemp). It's for the same reason they are charging you extra for the kitchen - because the cabinetmaker has to buy extra sheets and takes extra time to line up all the grains etc mind you, it looks GREAT when they do line up the grains properly, I'm very happy with my lamiwood kitchen that I paid extra for 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 92Oct 28, 2009 8:26 pm Thanks Jess. Explains alot about the extra $$ for Oyster. Thing is we are only having the one cupboard between the washing machine and the dryer so it seems a bit crazy to worry too much about it. Everyone has certainly made huge progress over the last couple of weeks, it's amazing the way they are going up. I think the extra cupboard in your kitchen really balances it out nice. Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 93Oct 28, 2009 10:39 pm Thanks ozzy I can't wait to see your kitchen, it's going to be HOT HOT HOT!!!! Love blackened linewood, next time (i know, i haven't even finished the first build yet ) i'm going for blackened linewood in the bathroom and ensuite, don't care how much extra it would cost, i just love it! 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 94Oct 29, 2009 6:40 am Mmm, it's a bugger having to stick to a budget I'm going to scan and email the forms back today so let's see what happens. Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 98Dec 12, 2009 7:30 am Well the site has been scraped, the retaining wall has been built and the house has been mapped out on the slab Our site manager who we will call, 'S' seems very approachable. How long from when your house was mapped out did you get your slab? I'm getting very excited now. Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 99Dec 12, 2009 9:07 am Ohhh, I need to update my update! Just drove by and they are putting in the screw piers Check out my blog for pictures. Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 100Dec 15, 2009 7:06 pm I had a call from the plumber today and he said that there was no provisions made for the connection up to the recycled water ??? And they want another $1300 to connect it I said I would have to ring the council and find out what the hell was going on. He said he has rang the council and their stamp was broken that day so they could stamp our plans with that information ... sound like bs to me, what do you think. About an hour later the site supervisor said that everything is connected .... what the hell is going on. Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13769 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 2580 |
