Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 42Aug 22, 2009 2:08 pm That's great news on your contract signing too. It's a hive of activity up at the blocks lately so two more wont make a difference will it Now, the plans that they gave me are A3 size, how am I going to scan them and get them on my blog, anyone? Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 43Aug 22, 2009 4:22 pm Hey Ozzy, I would suggest taking a photo of them if you want to do it straight away, otherwise take them to an Officeworks or something and resize them. Congrats on your contracts...Good luck Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 44Aug 22, 2009 9:07 pm Quickly (will check properly tomorrow) checked the contract. There should be two windows in the ensuite, they have only put one. We requests stacker doors on either side of the alfresco area. They have given us one. Now I think that will look very odd. As long as they don't charge us for there mistakes. Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 45Aug 22, 2009 9:33 pm hey ozzy - you shouldn't have any issues getting the mistakes fixed - i also had a few items that had to be fixed by variation (at corals cost) after contract signing - instead of delaying contract signing i signed, but also signed a variation request which coral actioned within a week of contract signing - my CSC was great and sorted this very quickly 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 46Sep 08, 2009 7:15 am Quick update: We are waiting for covenant approval. Rang up about it yesterday and the lady said she has been on holiday all last week and hasn't even opened the envelope When I told the guy at Coral he was really cross and wrote a email saying it's out of order and to us that will be another weeks rent! Good on him. Coral are charging us an extra $270 to have woodgrain effect Laminex in the kitchen. They wanted another $80 if we decided to do it in the bathrooms and ensuite. We kept the kitchen because we thought long and hard about that one. The ensuite and bathroom we changed there and then. We also decided not to go standard on the entrance doors and that for us is where we'd prefer our money to be spent. We also chose to upgrade the entrance door handle and go wood stain. Hope that all works out ok. Getting really frustrated with how long things are taking. It seems to be dragging on forever. Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 47Sep 08, 2009 7:44 am won't be long ozzy and things will be motoring along. Looked at your blog, the colours look great! Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 48Sep 08, 2009 7:55 am hey ozzy - the same thing happened with me with the laminates - i chose to keep my lamiwoods for the kitchen but changed the ones for the bathroom - kitchen was way more important 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 49Sep 08, 2009 7:56 am hey ozzy, which laminate did you choose for the kitchen? 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 50Sep 08, 2009 9:27 am Hey Ozzy, We are frustrated about convenant aswell.. i cant belive that no one has done the girls work while she is on leave! crazy.. we are envelope 3 on her desk apparently! Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 51Sep 09, 2009 7:17 am at, asked about your approval on Becks thread You seem to be doing it the other way round to us, once we get convenant approval we then have to get council approval, how long did yours take? We are going with Blackened Linewood for the kitchen. It's quite dark but I think it will look ok, we have plenty of light coming in to the kitchen/family room. We have also asked for the grain to be put horizontally. We saw it in a show home and fell in love with it so that's why we agreed to stump up the extra cash. What about you? Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 52Sep 09, 2009 7:35 am burnished wood, and then formica streetlight for the overheads - mine was $298.00 extra for the lamiwood, and another $197.00 for the 2nd laminate to the kitchen. originally i had also chosen oyster linea for the bathroom and laundry cabinets, stringybark to the ensuite cabinet with burnished wood as the benchtop - this would have cost approx $150.00 extra for the laundy, and over $250.00 extra for the ensuite, so i changed my oyster linea to stipple hemp and completely changed the ensuite (including tiles) - this was the day after my tiles and finishes appointment 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 53Sep 09, 2009 7:37 am Hi Ozzy, we lodged both our approvals at the same time. to get the ball rolling. Our building is ready to start, just need the convenant approval I am heading up to the land this morning, after school run, I have not been since the weekend so I am keen to take some photos of our estate with all the changes! We were in council for 7 days. : I think we just need to send council a copy of the convenant approval. I have not chosen any internal items as yet, i will be chatting directly to our cabinet maker about the kitchen, Cant wait! I am sure that once you get your covenant you will be in and out of council quickly! Custom build Gold Coast . My build : https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=21952 Its all happening!!! Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 54Sep 09, 2009 8:26 pm Well, we receive a letter today from the convenant people, the would like more informtion Not sure the guy at Coral did us any favours with his rant, they now want: Slope consideration - ensure cut and fill does not exceed 1m in height at any point. (the plan clearly states it doesn't exceed 1m). Ancillary structures - location, material and colour of the letterbox, Service Yard - bin & clothesline location, must be screened from view Fences - can't even be bothered to go into this one!!! Can't believe it, we wait a week, the girl goes on holiday and doesn't bother to open the bloody letter and then we get this, not happy Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 55Sep 09, 2009 8:42 pm That sucks, I hope it doesn't hold you up for too long. My covenants got delayed as they said I wasn't allowed one wall facade longer than 6 metres without a feature, so had to put in a pillar on the side of the garage which cost me over $400!! I love your colours too by the way. Karen Building coral Hamilton 252 on sunshine coast Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 57Sep 09, 2009 8:55 pm oh no Ozzy, that is not good news at all... Do you have a copy of what Coral sent to them...Coral should know what is expected for our covenant approval as they have built so many homes in the area.. they even had a display house there! Seems like the girl at covenant is nit picking at things. . I hope it all gets sorted quickly.. Will Coral submit to council without the covenant for you? Does Coral use a private certifier? Hopefully your council will be a quick visit Custom build Gold Coast . My build : https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=21952 Its all happening!!! Our build started 24 September !!!! Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 58Sep 09, 2009 11:22 pm hey at, coral uses a certifier called suncoast - they are really quick, and then only the plumbing and drainage has to go through council with the covenant stuff it doesn't sound like she's picking on the house perse (which is the only bit coral has anything to do with), it just sounds like she's asking for a ridiculous amount of info in regards to other things that ozzy probably hasn't even had a chance to think about yet i mean really, who knows what their letterbox is going to look like 6 months before the house is finished? 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 59Sep 10, 2009 6:31 am The letterbox colour is not what my mind has been on recently, you are right about that Jess All I know is that we have to supply this information. What makes me laugh is people are building their fences right on the boundary, strictly against their rules and they arn't doing a thing about it. So what is the point? Re: Coral Hamilton 278 - Update 60Sep 10, 2009 7:29 am is this not supposed to be on the boundary on corner blocks? 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 14363 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish.
