In my opinion creme bricks are more modern looking whilst red/brown are more timeless and classic. So which are you looking for? Timber doesn't necessarily have to be more expensive. We are using Decrowood timber look aluminium windows across our facade and for 12 windows it cost an extra $3k (actually a little less but can't remember the exact amount). I liked the smooth surface, wasn't really keen on the crinkled look of the bricks. I have to say I'm quite happy with the result. You'll also need to think about if you're doing rendering etc. I've noticed some bricks don't work well (near me) with rendering. No, we won't be doing any rendering at all, which is why we are so paranoid about choosing the right brick colour/shade ahhh : I’m restoring all my 40yr old windows and I want to install seals around the casements. I’ve sanded back and oiled the frames with sikkens.
