I"m thinking of doing my portico area like that...wish I could afford to do the whole lot, maybe down the track! Sorry I know I should go back to your blog to find this out...but what is the name of your internal paint? Is it a wattyl?? I have chosen my interior paint and I'm worried it has a pink under tone. I should just bite the bullet, pay the variation and change it now. Would be cheaper! Looking great, I bet your over the moon!!! Re: Annietom's finished! 6 Nov - Handover today! 103Nov 07, 2009 9:00 pm hey guys, thanks so much for all that. I'm actually quite tired atm, my feet are killing me, I've been running around organising painting and the landscaping. The painting is going well, I've had a bit of feature wallpaper go up too, which looks good. The landscaping has been quite disastrous. We hired a "digger" which is not a bobcat (which I thought it was), it's a much smaller "standing kind of digger" which basic does very little, very slowly. Totally stuffed up my landscaping schedule because he took so long to do things that a bobcat would have done in a 1/4 of the time!!! Very frustrating, so i've booked a bobcat tomorrow (under duress) probably high fees, but so what, gotta get it done. Also we got the soil organised by soilworx in deer park, do yourself a favour and if you are ordering soil, don't get it from there, they were HOPELESS!!! I can't believe a business like that still exists! Really unprofessional and unorganised company. I do hope tomorrow is more fruitful! A thankful person is a happy person. LIVING ROOM This room is still a work in progress. I want a TV feature wall over where the plasma is... still working on that one! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ TOY ROOM Kids have def taken "ownership", which we kinda wanted them too, so it's working out really well... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ UPPER KITCHEN DOOR UPGRADE I originally had Parchment on all kitchen cabinet doors (by Builder), but after handover, I took down the upper cabinet doors and replaced them with the stringybark laminate (like my butler's pantry benchtop) and it has all come together really well... very pleased I made the effort for an extra $300! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ FRONT PORCH There's my lovely iron custom gates, they are just phenomenal - very happy indeed! Because the gates have a dead lock, and the side of the porch has a permanent piece of safety glass, this is a very secure porch area for kids etc... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ FRONT LANDSCAPE Landscaped, drip irrigated and planted mainly with red roses and lavender... I also stained the merbau path the other night with a "jarrah" stain, to darken it a bit... It looks great now. Path also has lights built in... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ DRIVEWAY Spray on concrete, paid $2,200 and pretty happy with it, perhaps could have gone a darker brown colour, that's all... I had a peek at your blog for a catch up... WOW! It looks like you've settled quite a fair bit into your new home! (albeit with room completion list o utstanding but even then...you've done remarkably well already!). Love your grandeur looking gates and the glass panel is such a good idea! Have you had any people plonk into it by mistake? The new shiny front doors in black looks stunning too! And my list of OOoh and AAaahs just keep going on and on and on and on! I hope people around you ie DH acknowledges what an amazing job you have done working and organising to make your home come together, especially with two little people running amok (particularly love the kitty litter laundry disaster photo and the innocent look on the your DSs face) . Congratulations. I hope I can do the same with little ones running around in - fingers -crossed 5 months time. Re: Annietom's slowly settling in - updated furnished pics xmas 114Dec 28, 2009 9:22 am Hi Annie, I love looking at your blog and can't believe the stage you are at now. I am getting a similar driveway but in a charcoal colour. Was the total price $2200 as my drvieway is very similar? I really like your entrance way and think it is a great idea for people with little ones. Well done Harribeka Re: Annietom's slowly settling in - updated furnished pics xmas 115Dec 28, 2009 10:08 am yes darl it was $2,200 for the stencil work (not the concrete laid). it worked out to about $40sqm. We had a big driveway... I wish I went for a darker brown colour, too light really, but what's done is done! Good luck A thankful person is a happy person. Such a beautiful home viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Annietom's slowly settling in - updated furnished pics xmas 119Jan 09, 2010 11:27 am Annie thank you for the kind comments on my house build I thought I'd pop over to your blog to have a little-looksie, and WOW what a resource of information! I've gone right to the bottom to start reading it chronologically, but I love the detail you've put into it. Plus, your other blog is going to be a fantastic source of ideas for me. Your house looks amazing, and all the effort you've put in to 'make it yours' is phenomenal. Your homemade ottoman are very snazzy, you're quite the talented crafty-person Oh and good move on the colour choice for your kitchen doors - some things really have to be seen in the flesh before you can form a proper opinion don't they. The darker laminate really helps to break up the kitchen and make it look more modern. Re: Annietom's slowly settling in - updated furnished pics xmas 120Jan 09, 2010 5:14 pm Hi Annie, I had an updated read of your thread and blog. Wow, what great progress you have made. (And all that hard work you have personally put in must make it even more satisfying). On your blog, I like how you tallied the pricing of so many of the 'extras' that are not included with the build itself. It helps to give me and others an idea of what approximately to allow for. You seem to have got some really good bargains in that price list. Your 2yo is lucky to get thost Laurel and Hardy 'statues' (is that the right word?), they are gorgoeus - really add character to the home theatre. I love the lights in your decking too - an added little feature that gives the wow factor. It has all come together beautifully. Congratulations.
