Re: Slab Poured today...not so good?! 4Jul 07, 2009 9:40 pm It might be as simple as pinging a chalk line and cutting the excess off. Even though they'll probably assure you it's fine, at least they'll know that you're keeping an eye on things. Also, your SS probably wont be on site every day so he may not even be aware of it unless you say something. Your frame will probably be going up before you know it, so don't stew on it for too long. Re: Slab Poured today...not so good?! 7Jul 08, 2009 8:22 am Thanks for the responses...I have spoken about my concerns with my SS this morning and he will have a look at the slab tomorrow. He did say that if the brick edge of the slab is out and also the termite inspection zone, then we may have some problems. I'll be out there this afternoon with a tape measure and string line!! I sure hope this isn't the start of many issues Re: Slab Poured today...not so good?! 8Jul 08, 2009 9:16 am what bozo did that! talk about lazy! Annie A thankful person is a happy person. Formwork guys need to be shot for being lazy. All may not be lost though. The bow out in the upper section of the slab where the frame will sit may not extend far enough out to interfere with brick pad (lower section). There is always a small gap between the bricks and the frame. Stay on top of your SS. For your own piece of mind you may want to engage an approriately qualified inspector and obtain a profesional opinion on it. All the best Leonard. Thanks Leonard...I may seek independant advice pending tomorrow's SS meeting and outcome. It seems it's all about luck of the draw in regards to which contractor you get...I walked by a slab last night that had just been done by a builder i've never heard of before...slab was so neat you could eat your dinner off it Hello needing some advice. I was about to build my Alfresco and needed a new slab and remove exisiting slab as its not standard. So they start to excavate and jackhammer… 0 10673 9 24757 Thank you. Do I use timber floorboards for stairs or do people use timber treads? Or is both the same? 6 7258 |
