I see there is another house about to start too a few doors down on the other side. But your's looks almost ready to move in! We're going for late Jan at this stage for Slab pouring. Still in neg with our builder who weren't going to change the siting plan as they though it was at min setback already. After steering them in the right direction, they have realised their misinterpretation of the setback rules and are going to change it to just over 5 m. I can't believe these guys who are supposed to professional surveyors, you'd think they'd get this right. I'm looking forward to having a few beers with new neighbours in the near future. Good luck with rest of the build and move. I hope you are getting some sleep at night! James Building in the Maples, Laurimar. The roller door is being installed monday, and the carpentry fix should be finished next week. The kitchen goes in the following week. I hope to start the pool mid December, but it's not a concern as long as it gets in by March (for my son's birthday). I think we'll start to see a few homes go up now. I think it's been 6-7 months since most blocks were settled. Never expect the builder's to get everything right. Most of the time they wouldn't check, sometimes because they wouldn't care. You're just lucky you got onto it now so you don't lose 2 metres of backyard. When you get your slab in, we may be in the new place so knock on the door and we'll have a beer to celebrate ! The inside is going well, with the carpentry fix almost complete. On the outside, I have to clean the bricks, render around the 3 windows and decide what to do over the entry (under the entry roof, above the brickwork). Initially it was to be rendered, but now I am also thinking of timber slats. I also expect the pool drawings back next week so I can start to organise the construction of the pool. Hopefully I'll have that ready by end Feb, just before my son's birthday.
