Another month has passed and a lot more progress happening at the house. Had a few days of delays due to plumbers and electricians working on other projects. A few photos of the progress. Are you building in Camalda or Green Gully Estate ? and which stage - we bought in Green Gully in June 09 and we were supposed to settle in Oct/Nov - now we are told that we could be waiting until Jan 10 for settlement. I noticed you waited forever as well, I am not very patient, cant wait to start building and I hope when we do that ours goes up as quick as yours. We bought through mill park lakes office. It was the 2nd last stage. As for land settlement. It took us almost a year to settle, before signing we were told it would be ready late sep, oct 08. We settled in May 09. We were furious with them but what can you do? The build itself has been great, so glad we went with a private builder as we were getting stuffed around with H3nley for a while. So who are you thinking of building with? Re: Lam and Genevieve's Build- Big update - lotsa pics 30Oct 27, 2009 1:58 pm I know what you mean, very frustrating when the developers tell you one thing when you buy and then take soooo long to actually title it. I cannot believe how quickly all the land has been sold, I know Camalda and Green Gully brought their next stages for sale forward because the blocks sold so quickly, and now I guess it's catch up time waiting for the people to do all the sub division. We are thinking of building with Silkwood Dream. Would you mind sharing how much PD are charging for site costs for you, I am worried about the pile of rocks starting to mount up all over our estate. We have an initial amount of $10,000 - dont have any extra money to go over this, so fingers crossed. What type of slab did you have to have. We are building with a private builder so the site cost was included in the house price. $10,000 does seem pretty high. We had no rock as there was no excavation, just a slight scrape, we wanted the house to sit higher than the footpath so he increased the slab height to 7cm above the footpath. We have a wafflepod slab. So pretty standard in that area. Fingers crossed for you too. Re: Lam and Genevieve's Build- Big update - lotsa pics 33Oct 27, 2009 4:30 pm Matt1972 What was the delay with settlement? Roads were not in yet. Overhead power lines needed to go underground, water, sewarage and gas were all delayed. Aaarrrghhhh. the list goes on. Re: Lam and Genevieve's Build- Big update - lotsa pics 34Oct 28, 2009 11:44 am Sorry I thought you were building with PD, would you mind sharing your builder's name, I love your plan and would love to check them out. Been a while since we have posted anything. The house has been coming along slowly buy surely and it will be any day now that we move in. Been a couple of minor hiccups along the way, ie: wrong carpet colour laid down, Benchtop was cut in the wrong spot for the basins. Other than that, things have been taking its time to happen. It's been 7 months now and we are finally on the home stretch. Here are some photos taken recently, so hope you like them as we are quite stoked. Love EVERYTHING (colours in h/t, powder room basins, kitchen, massive drum pendants etc... etc...) about it. buzz ... hope you get your keys soon! Re: Lam and Genevieve's Build- Big update - Almost handover pics 40Feb 11, 2010 2:05 pm sveta Looking awesome Lam & Genevieve!! Can i ask how much the riser cost you? Did you do it after handover or with the builder? thanx Thanks Sveta, I did the riser myself so it was quite cheap. 2 sections of yellowtongue and some pine planks. I think about $150 all up. I used our builders nail gun to wack it all in. Took about an hour to do all up. Hello everyone, I have a question regarding moving a chandelier after it has been mounted. The chandelier in question is quite large, measuring 4 meters… 0 68184 Very common on rendered homes Smaller suppliers get the lower quality raw materials 6 9098 4 9407 |
