Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Scrap some house changes for a better block? 27Jul 16, 2009 4:59 pm Hi guys Sorry I havent been back to reply for a bit - Ive been sooking I spoke to my finance broker before we were going to sign up for the block - basically just to let him know that we would need to look at getting finance earlier than we had first thought. Anyway, he tells me that he has bad news - because the banks arent doing 95% loans like they used to we dont have enough equity in our house (or the $20k cash to pay the mortgage insurance) SO, we now have to wait for 9 months to save up the $20k before we can sign up for a block However, englyn - you were right When I told the land sales guy about our situation he said that they are selling land in that estate for the next 2 years and there will definitely be another block suitable for us so they will just keep sending me the updates and I can let him know when we are ready The land is in Newhaven estate, Piara Waters by the way Sounds like rubbish to me. Ask for the contamination report which I doubt they have. If it's part of a normal subdivision it would have had a contamination report done… 9 5645 I engaged my builder in December last year and we’ve been working on preliminary drawings for last couple of months. I got a call from the salesperson this morning… 0 559 brokers will also be in a position to get you a better rate than the advertised rate most times. 6 7575 |
