Personally I have to take my hat off to Metr!con as we have battled terrible weather with record rain falls... They have also been so accomodating as we have been making changes on the fly and whilst under construction and it has never been a problem... Finally we are looking at lock up stage within the fortnight and I will keep you all posted with pics as I get some time to update... Cheers Re: Building with Metr!con... 13Jul 05, 2009 7:51 pm Great to hear a positive build experience! Well done to M3tricon. Beautiful setting and the house looks fantastic.... I'm a big fan of the Grandview! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Building with Metr!con... PICS 5th July 14Jul 05, 2009 8:42 pm Hey Joles, Yeh it is good to have a positive build experience, as I have read many forums on Metr!con and its hard to find one that gives positive feedback... But as the story goes, you generally only hear about the negative things... I have also noticed that Metr!con seem to run operationally better up here in QLD vs Victoria but that also comes with the amount of homes they churn out each year down there... So yep we are very happy with them and our SS has never missed a call of mine to date ( I ring him alot too, keep him on his toes) he is fantastic... Cheers Re: Building with Metr!con... 15Jul 05, 2009 8:58 pm mjl Great to hear a good story for M as we are waiting to start building, waiting on building permits. We have had a bad time with our CSC never gets back to us etc, but as long as the house looks great and finished in a quick time we will forget the rest. We are building the Chelsea, similar to the Grandview. Good luck hope it keeps up at this pace. We can't wait to start our house Forum thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22300 Re: Building with Metr!con... 16Jul 05, 2009 9:15 pm Hi Penny, Sorry to hear that your CSC is not very helpful... But from what I have read that seems very common in Victoria... Oh yeh the Chelsea is very similar to the Grandview just a few subtle changes and yours is bigger... lol Re: Building with Metr!con... 17Jul 06, 2009 8:45 am What an awesome view you have! Hope our build goes as quickly as yours! Re: Building with Metr!con... 19Jul 06, 2009 10:18 am All looking great! May I ask, what bricks you have chosen? Were they an upgrade?... I think I like them enough to choose the same for my house. Contracted completion date 24 July 2010. What's today's date????? Re: Building with Metr!con... 20Jul 06, 2009 12:19 pm Hi Helloween, The bricks are by Boral and they are "Blue Rio"... BUT... you need the white mortar...(they were an upgrade but it was a very reasonable price, from memory just over 2k) mortar is a little more too... We loved that brick too...it really is the only brick which can achieve the look we are going for... in the very near future we also have a little render being slapped up in select places...which will really set it off... Thanks for all your great feedback.... We are building in the beauiful Glass House Mountains.... Cheers How do you remove one of these ceiling air con vents? And is it possible to disconnect the duct joined to the vent from inside the house, without going into the roof cavity? 0 5947 Just to makea point about this, an approach that some people have found sucessful in negotiating these rises down, Is to provide some workings to the builder, specifying… 4 81726 Hi all, sorting out the ducted air con for a 350sqm double story house.
