Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 04, 2009 8:16 pm Hello, Please can someone suggest what Render colors would go with Woodland grey colorbond roof, gutters and fascias. I would really like to hear regarding any suggestions for the Render color that would go with the selection below. Roof - Colorbond woodland grey Fascias - woodland grey Gutters - woodland grey window frames - Black Garage door - Murray Cedar Render - ?? As per the link below, Dulux Army issue is an option but I am concerned as to how it will look. http://www.colorbondcolours.com/go/home ... ur-schemes What are the popular colors that would go with Woodland grey ? Please let me know. Thanks a lot Tama Re: Urgent...pls help me with render color. 2Jul 04, 2009 8:25 pm I would lean towards going with a lighter colour for a bit of contrast. In that link, something like the Dulux Grey Pebble. Dune is also a nice colour that I think goes nicely with WG. I would go with silver or white windows with whatever light colour you choose ... just personal preference though "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. If you see th link below...this is is the kind of colour scheme I have in my mind. Any ideas what this color could be ? http://www.dalealcock.com.au/new-home-d ... residence/ Cheers. Re: Urgent...pls help me with render color. 4Jul 04, 2009 9:01 pm I would also say a lighter colour render. Here is a link to some render colours. Google render colours. http://www.tcmcolour.com.au/r1.htm Re: Urgent...pls help me with render color. 5Jul 04, 2009 9:04 pm oooh that's nice! the black windows look good on that one the lighter colour around the portico looks Paperbark-y, and the slightly darker one looks a bit Self-Destruct-y. But I wouldn't know, I am just pulling those names out of my very limited repertoire of colour knowledge Then there is a lighter colour again around the garage looks like? Maybe Mich or someone more knowledgable will come along and advise. Have you tried calling the builder's office of that display home to ask them? Or even pay them a visit if they are nearby. Re: Urgent...pls help me with render color. 6Jul 04, 2009 9:16 pm I'm also not that good at this... but I reckon on that Dale Alcock home the light one is more like Self-Destruct and the darker one more like Stonecrop. I'd go with black windows.... but I'm biased, I love them. Here is Self-Destruct and Stonecrop Definitely not Army Issue.... this is Army Issue on a house. http://i519.photobucket.com/albums/u353/joles_photo/2009-02-26_11-24-21_26022009592.jpg I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Solver paints has such a limited color pallet, dont know how much the builder would charge extra for Dulux exterior colors. What are your suggestions on following colors: Render color 1)Solver Lundy Grey (solver paints) 2)Solver Mountain Ash (solver paints) 3)Dune (Dulux) Any suggestions/other colors pls Re: Urgent...pls help me with render color. 8Jul 05, 2009 3:49 pm There is a thread here somewhere about Lundy Grey.... with pics from poeple who have used it. Stunning colour. Here's the link....... viewtopic.php?f=31&t=9901&hilit=Lundy+grey I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. They have more colours than what are shown in the brochure the builder hands out. But if you have a clear idea what you want then go with that. They also do mixes of most other paints e.g. Dune. We liked Dune, but thought it was too light for what we wanted. We chose Lundy Grey (and asked for it at 150%) so it looks the same as in the brochure. We are having dark grey roof, woodland grey gutter/fascia, black windows and timber look garage. BE CAREFUL the paint brochure (and any for that matter) is not an accurate representation of the finished product - you need to look at houses in person so you get a true idea. You can also get sample tins from the Solver shop. You can see Taubman's lapstone (very similar to Lundy Grey), together with dulux linseed, on the Scott Park Grand Avalon display at Meadowsprings IT's on their website too. Alot of the Scott Park homes use woodland grey. We called them and asked what the colours were! I hope this helps. Thanks for your suggestions. We visited Dale Alcock display home and found out the color is Lundy grey and Doveskin both from solver paints. Infact most of the display homes which have woodland grey use Doveskin or Lundy grey colors. Doveskin is too light so I guess we would be going with Lundygrey. I agree it looks completely different from the handouts and even in different light. Its very hard to imagine how the color would look before the house is complete. We had our prestart yesterday and came to know that the garage door which we had selected will cost 600bucks additional as it is a upgrade option. Can some one pls advice a color which will go with this render. Roof - Colorbond woodland grey Fascias - woodland grey Gutters - woodland grey Window frames - Black Garage door - ???? Pls advice Entry door - ???? Pls advice (Paint finish) Render - Lundy Grey Solver Paints Pavning - Lime stone with charcol boarder Its a bit of a disappoinment as the elevation color scheme would not be similar to what we had in mind initially.. Re: Urgent...pls help me with render color. 13Jul 07, 2009 8:03 pm Tama, We had the same dilemna with our front door and garage door! We are doing the garage door after handover (heaps cheaper) and will pay a little bit extra for the timber-look as that is what we really want. As for the front door, we chose a timber stain from the Solver range. It cost $80 to upgrade to this. What colours did they use on that Dale Alcock house you liked?? Thanks for your feedback.. kirsada, I think the color is same as garage door Murray Cedar. Are you installing the garage door after handover or getting it painted after handover. We have asked SPH price to upgrade for timer stained option. Hope its not very much. We guys also want a timber-look. Re: Urgent...pls help me with render color. 15Jul 07, 2009 10:06 pm Tamamontu….I’m quite busy at the moment with lost going on. The only way to truly find the right colours are to do yourself a colour board. That’s means trying the colours in sample pots and painting them onto boards with all your other selections. Painful I know, but it is the best way.
