I do know if its excessive but the way I would work it out is by determining how much coverage you have. Height of wall by length of wall in mm and divide by 1000000 should be sq meters. then compare to cost of tile, remember to allow extra I would round up to the nearest whole tile to calc. for example out bathroom is 1500 x 2000 say ceiling is 32c which is 2743. 1500 x 2743 + 2000 x 2743 = 9600500 x 2 = 19201000 which is about 19.2 sq meters. this is assuming that the entire walls would be covered which is not correct but I think they charge more when tiles need to be cut and when they need to go around items. I was told that they simply count the tiles or part thereof to calc how much is laid. While it may work out more it does give you a ball park to work from. Tilers out there please correct me or help improve the estimation process for me as I am learning as well. cheers mark Unless there were unforeseeable issues with the site, I dont think you should have to pay for contractors errors or poor planning. So laying costs are 5000$… 0 7552 |
