Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone using Selkirk Ironstone color bricks? 41Jul 28, 2009 10:21 am I suppose it depends on who you get! We have a pre start CSC who was fantastic and our contruction CSC is pretty good - we speak to her at least once a week if not more! We have met our SS 3 times on site but had several phone calls..... I know when we re picked our bricks they were still supplying some selkirk so i think the general manager got it wrong but yeh no point harping about it what has happened has happened.... We are actually happier with our new bricks! 2nd build here we come in Whittlesea! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=92617 1st Build - Henley - Cooper in Doreen! (2009) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=17354 Re: Anyone using Selkirk Ironstone color bricks? 42Jul 28, 2009 3:37 pm I just spoke to Selkirk today. They are saying there is a short supply of Ironstone & a few others because of the FHOG. The next order would come around mid-September. Re: Anyone using Selkirk Ironstone color bricks? 43Jul 28, 2009 11:04 pm mmmm well they told me that the issue was due to the factory not being back at full capacity post an explosion they had! it seems to change whoever you speak to! 2nd build here we come in Whittlesea! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=92617 1st Build - Henley - Cooper in Doreen! All out colours were based on the brick - as we chose that first. We were notified of the delay for Ironstone, however our builder offered us a reverse build while we waited for the brick. We took that option as there is nothing wrong with doing a reverse build (plastering before the bricks). 4 weeks later they called and said that the bricks are avaialbe and will be ariving on site the following week. THEN - they called us they friday before the bricks were due on Monday and advised us that Ironstone was no longer available (offered us the Raheen then and there with out us seeing it - odd thing to do) Like you, really not happy! So my partner and I had to take a day off work and drive around the Northan Suburbs looking at houses. For the second time! Finally settled on the Mocha from Boral. Which we love, more so than the Iron Stone - atually matches our colours (Jasper and Moneument) better. Called our CSC that day - Bricks arrived the next day. We are the Same a Cinny - we have found the contact excellent - I get a call AT Least once a week with updates, and any issues I raise, they call me back the same or next day. They should be calling you once a week with the weekly update - I would chase that. http://staxhouse.blogspot.com/ Re: Anyone using Selkirk Ironstone color bricks? 45Jul 29, 2009 2:49 pm Stu32 Finally settled on the Mocha from Boral. We've got a fixed price with our bank for the mortgage, and we can't really afford to upgrade if nothing matches in Cat 1!!! They should be calling you once a week with the weekly update - I would chase that. The problem is, is that there seems to be no-one to chase! I honestly believe (and I'm not being a smart ***) that it is company policy to NOT answer their phone, and let it go through to voicemail. That way they can screen the calls and priortise based on what they think is important. Since we started dealing with them back in April, I have yet to speak to a real person when I call, unless I get the front desk - but when they transfer me to the person I want - guess what? Voicemail. The times I have managed to get through, I mention to them the emails I've sent with various queries, and they always say 'uhmm I don't remember that email'. I am truly envious of everyone that has found these guys easy to deal with! Certainly don't get a weekly update either... The only person I've found ok, is our onsite supervisor. Re: Anyone using Selkirk Ironstone color bricks? 46Jul 29, 2009 3:40 pm Hi jcjuice, No, the Bricks were not Catagory 1. Mocha is 4 I belive. Do what we did and query what you will have to pay if you have to upgrade - you might be surprised. As for the contact - thats odd. I was referring to our Admin lady at the main office. She relays all infomration to our Site Supervisor and comes back to me asap. http://staxhouse.blogspot.com/ Re: Anyone using Selkirk Ironstone color bricks? 47Jul 29, 2009 9:35 pm jcjuice Stu32 Finally settled on the Mocha from Boral. I was wondering who you are building with CJ? Re: Anyone using Selkirk Ironstone color bricks? 49Jul 30, 2009 10:00 am Ring the receptionist. If she puts you through to voice mail, call her back and tell her. Ask her if your Admin has actually been into work the last few days as you are not getting a reply to messages and emails. Ask her to put you through again and you'll leave ANOTHER message and most importantly ask the receptionist out of interest who is the admins manager. Bingo....you'll have a reply in an hour or two as the receptionist will probably tell your admin that you were asking about the manager. It worked for us at least! What letter does your admins first name start with? Re: Anyone using Selkirk Ironstone color bricks? 50Jul 30, 2009 1:41 pm N. used to have a S - but they 'left' (got fired probably)... I shouldn't have to do all that mucking about though - the agreement between us and H3nley states that they will give weekly updates - I shouldn't have to chase them to do something they said they'd do in the first place. Anyway - I don't want to turn this into a gripe! Otherwise I'll sound bitter and twisted.. Re: Anyone using Selkirk Ironstone color bricks? 51Aug 05, 2009 10:45 am thought I'd share, issue sorted. yay! Whilst we still would have preferred the Ironstone brick, we're happy with Austral's La Trobe, and happy that they agreed to not charge us any more for it (it's a Cat 4 brick - apparently pricier due to the Manganese). Re: Anyone using Selkirk Ironstone color bricks? 54Aug 09, 2009 1:17 am Just letting you all know that we are building with M and our Selkirk Irontone bricks were delivered on site this week. We therefore haven't had any issues with the supply of these bricks. Re: Anyone using Selkirk Ironstone color bricks? 55Aug 09, 2009 1:18 am One thing I have noticed is that there is alot of color variation in all the bricks. I hope this is how it is supposed to be. It will therefore be important that the brick layers vary the color mix when laying. 0 1995 I would probably definitely consider contrasting out garage door (e.g. light ash would look great) and make downpipes and fascia same colour as your walls, not as your… 1 3561 Suggestions please for acrylic rendering Color to match austral brick urban one pepper. Pic for reference. Thanks 0 5063 |
