Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 29, 2009 5:29 pm FINALLY .... I have taken some pics of our new house. We are very close to handover - maybe next week.... We have had our own key since lock up, and our builder has been happy to have our trades work in with his, which has saved us lots of time.
Anyway - here are some photos taken this morning (if anyone can point me in the direction of how to post in pictures bigger than thumbnails that would be great.). Also, was holding baby on hip while taking photos so that is why the quality is not so great!! Hallway and stairs. Floors went in last week, they will be sanded and sealed just before we move in. Floors are grey ironbark. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ upstairs balcony. You can see the scrappy council tree we were not allowed to "remove and replace" as part of the build. Consequently, the tree abuts our driveway and is a complete safety hazard. Numerous tradies' trucks have clipped its branches but none has had the good fortune to take it out completely! Outside we need paving, lawn and reticulation!! and lots more little things to do too. Not long to go!! Re: Our new house - lots of photos (featuring fudge stream!) 4Jun 29, 2009 5:53 pm Thanks! It's a solver colour - smoke pearl. We have done a feature wall in the living room in wallaby which is about 2 tones darker (and therefore barely noticeable as a "feature"). It looks good, a very warm neutral. Doors are solver white tone. Re: Our new house - lots of photos (featuring fudge stream!) 5Jun 29, 2009 5:54 pm Looks fantastic, congratulations. Any idea when you will be able to move in? Re: Our new house - lots of photos (featuring fudge stream!) 6Jun 29, 2009 5:57 pm I desperately want to be in by the end of the month (ie July) which should be achievable, assuming all the tradies stick to their schedules. We don't have much to do, it's really just a matter of co-ordination and the weather being good so that paving etc outside can get done. We are only doing window treatments on the rooms facing the street to begin with, and will do lots of finishing off once we're in. Handover should be next week or the following week, and there are still some outstanding issues with the final bill which need to be sorted so that hopefully won't drag on too long either. Re: Our new house - lots of photos (featuring fudge stream!) 7Jun 29, 2009 6:13 pm Looking good!! Not long now how exciting! ICK So glad the building is over, never again. Loooove our house, but still not quite sure it was worth all of the stress they put us through! My land is 260m2 (10m x 26m) located in claymore NSW. Under campbelltown council. I know in general the following setbacks would apply ground floor side setback =… 0 6908 of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them. I find it odd that lawyers wouldnt be willing to take on the case, given CCT evidence and… 1 23764 "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 36 23884 |
