Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 29, 2009 11:42 am Just curious - is it a legal requirement to have temporary fencing in place, or does it depend on the builder's policies? We're building with M3tricon and we were told that temp fencing is legally required for OHS. Which is fine. But I've noticed that there are heaps of building sites without any fencing. And what really got us curious is that there is a house underway in the same street as us, through the same builder, and they don't have any temp fencing across the front (there is existing fencing on the 3 sides at that site). I'm waiting for a call back from council, but if anyone knows how it all works, I'd love to hear from you! We're home!!! Maybe it's relatively new legislation here - not sure. Seems like every third construction doesn't have fencing up. Makes sense to have fencing, as long as it's actually secure & locked up.
