Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 03, 2010 10:23 am Hi, I'm looking at building a new home and would like it to be raised on stumps. I believe a project home would be the cheapest option but have only been able to find G.J. Gardner (lightweight series) with houses designed to be raised, which I like, but I'd like to have something else to compare to. Can anyone point me in the direction of others? We are building in S.E. Qld. Thanks in advance Re: Project homes designed for stumps? 2Oct 03, 2010 5:51 pm Don't discard smaller builders they can be cheaper with this type of build than project builders as they are not building outside the norm. Most of the builds around us are on a slope so a lot of smaller builders are being used. Try the display villages at Springfield Lakes and Daisy Hill. Project builders will struggle with some stumped projects pending the complexity as the attention to detail, site work, and time the supervisor needs to spend on site doesn't usually fit into the model of a project home builder. Yes they won't be able to compete with buying power of a larger builder, but they'll hopefully spend more time with you and on site to ensure everything travels smoothly. If building a stumped home, it's worth paying a few extra $$ to make sure it's done right. Re: Project homes designed for stumps? 4Oct 04, 2010 2:40 pm I know of a really good custom builder who has a really good rep and has very competetive pricing. Try BMW Homes at Logan. They have excellent service and their sales team is fantastic. Another you might like to try is Qld Colonial. They specialise in Qlders whether they be slab on ground or stumps. Both these builders have done or are in the process doing work for us. PM me if you'd like some more information.
