Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Coral 'Hamilton 278'-colour question? 81Oct 02, 2009 10:44 pm Hey everyone, I just wanted to ask some opinions on my colour ideas. I haven't actually had Colour Selections yet and I won't be for a while but I'm pretty sure I know what we're going to have. I just need to see if everyone agrees. Ok firstly, what has everyone done in relations to different colours for kitchen, bathrooms and laundry. For example have you chosen three different colour schemes? Or have you gone all the same? I have some ideas for three colour schemes, but this is going against what I was thinking at the start. I told myself I'd stick with one colour scheme for all Now I've bitten off more than I can chew. Silly me....anyway what do you all think of these.... This was done on the Studio M website (love it) and although I'm not building with M, it has given me a really good idea of how the colour schemes will look. This elevation is similar to our design, so it's only to get an idea of the colours. The bricks are also not our chosen bricks because M doesn't do PGH bricks, so i picked something close enough. Anyway....I have three to choose from, so tell me what you think..... Number 1- Paperbark roof with Jasper gutters, fascia, garage and front door. I think the Paperbark would be better because it blends in with the bricks and also from the inside it would look better because the Deep Ocean wouldn't go with the interior colours...... Thanks Re: Our Coral 'Hamilton 278'-colour question? 82Oct 02, 2009 11:41 pm hi renee i really like option one for the exterior colours - yes there's lots of brown, but with some good landscaping etc that facade and colour scheme will take a long time to "date" as such (i hate the concept of dating - i think you build a house to have what you want, not what someone else wants to have but it all depends how long you're planning to live in the house aswell) you know i'm going to say that i like your bathroom/ensuite scheme (because this is what i have for my laundry bathroom and toilet ) hopefully all my tiles and cabinetry will be in before you do finishes and tiles selections so that you can see how it all looks and what tiles i chose ) i also really like your laundry selection - very nice i wasn't sure about the brook pebble for the kitchen benchtop but then i came across this pic posted in this thread ( viewtopic.php?f=16&t=20105&hilit=brook+pebble ) i love it the white but also think it will work with the stipple cocoa Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: Our Coral 'Hamilton 278'-colour question? 83Oct 03, 2009 7:36 am Hi Renee Our interior colors are still only in our heads too but we are thinking continue whatever floor tiles into bathroom, ensuite & laundry and white wall tiles for bathroom, ensuite & laundry with the same feature tile in each. We like simple & this shouldnt get old too quickly. By using white I figure we can dress it up with colors in towels etc & be able to change when one gets boring? For bench & vanity tops - no idea if we will have them the same but I think so (at this stage anyway) Outside, I really like your first combo. I like the look of the roof & windows being the same color. Would you consider having either a really dark brown or even a black garage door? I think they offset nicely against the black roof? I prefer the contrasts in the 3rd one but I would look at maybe going a stain for the front door as apposed to the blue. It's so hard to judge your laminate colours without an idea of your other colours ie. floor tiles and wall colours. Just keep in mind that Stipple Cocoa used a base colour all over can be quite dark. All your colours look great though. I think the 3 looks are fine Re: Our Coral 'Hamilton 278'-colour question? 94Oct 12, 2009 12:44 pm Thanks everyone for your feedback! I have always been a browny, earthy, neutral coloured person so the first colour scheme is definitely my favourite. We have considered a stained garage and front door but are still undecided on that. I think Jess you are right in saying it is something that won't date. In regards to the internal laminate choices, our wall colour will be Hogs Bristle Half and the floor tiles will probably be a browny, taupe colour. So overall hopefully they should all go together well Re: Our Coral 'Hamilton 278'-waiting for contract... 95Oct 19, 2009 9:37 pm Just a quick update on things.... Our current house is still under contract and it's not long until it goes unconditional. Also, we finally signed off on our third tender letter today and are on our way to contracts...woohoo! Our SC said today that contracts are only taking around two weeks at the moment. So that's great that we won't have to wait long, then it's off to council.... So overall, we're just waiting, waiting, waiting......but also excited. All going well we'll have start date in the New Year after the Xmas break! Hooray Re: Our Coral 'Hamilton 278'-waiting for contract... 96Oct 19, 2009 9:44 pm thats great news renee!!!! there will still be plenty of builds to watch once mine is done! yay! 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: Our Coral 'Hamilton 278'-Update-contracts signed.. 97Nov 17, 2009 10:21 pm Ok so just an update.... We've had had a hectic few weeks. Our old house went unconditional, applied for a rental and got it. All four of us got really sick with the flu. Was not at all motivated to pack or anything. It really knocked us about. Moved in last Tuesday, leaving us ten days until settlement so plenty of time to clean up and move everything etc. Then we received our Contracts (hooray!) on Thursday. Then this last weekend I went to a Scrapbook weekend retreat had a great time but still not over the flu. Then we went and signed our Contracts on Monday (hooray!) and then today we got covenant approval. So that brings everything up to date. Just waiting patiently here So hopefully things won't take too long with council approval etc. So we should defnitely be looking at a New Year start date. Happy New Year!
