Hopefully in that 3 weeks someone will put a fire cracker up their butts and they will start steam rolling ahead?? Wouldn't that be great. But I guess I can't predict someone will light the match

Have heard they have done a bit more work this week on the frame (nothing was done for 2 weeks). I will take some shots and put them up. This will be the last time I get to up until Easter Weekend as we leave for Bali next Wednesday and return Easter Friday. Hopefully in that 3 weeks someone will put a fire cracker up their butts and they will start steam rolling ahead?? Wouldn't that be great. It's not official yet but hopefully they will give us an answer soon. ![]() ![]() ![]() Need to get happy as off to Bali tomorrow for 3 weeks for my sis's wedding ![]() ![]() Caine & Sarah's NBG Buckingham 36 View my thread here: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=19894 View all photos here: http://caineandsarah.blogspot.com Re: Building the NBG Buckingham36 in Laurimar Doreen 63Mar 20, 2010 10:09 am Best wishes for your holiday in Bali. Hope the wedding goes well. Cross fingers you come home and don't recognise your house because of all the work they've done to it! ![]() Building the NBG Buckingham36 in Laurimar Doreen - Update 65May 13, 2010 4:16 pm Sorry I have not replied sooner, I have just been so busy I haven't had a chance to do anything. Been up to the house a couple of times. Have some new shots to put up soon. The builder calls me once a week to see if I want to remove something that they obviously cannot be bothered doing or ordering. I just tell them now... NO we want whatever we ordered. So annoying, they are just lazy. Rowena: The holiday was great. Wish I could go back 2 weeks just isn't long enough. So much to do and see and buy and drink... I saw you had your colour appointment... great choices. Looks like we are just waiting for the front door and garage doors to go on and then we will be at lockup stage. We went with a beige colour and would be one of the few things I'd change if I did it again. We had overlooking issues with the big window in the upstairs room and had to change it to obscure glass at a cost of $800. More to the story and I wasn't happy but my point is it would have been so inappropriate if it wasn't obscured glass as it overlooks our neighbours main living areas so it all turned out for the best. Erin thanks for being so concerned it's great to know we have neighbours like you around. So here's the goss since I last posted. - My brother in law has been in with the builders electrician to do all our extra electrical work (approx 80 down lights & 30 p/points). - When this was completed the plasteres worked a whole Saturday to finish it all (Erin I believe this was the day you concerned). Apparently they arrived at 6am and finished about 2am. Not really sure how the hell they could see in the dark, they mush have night vision goggles and a few torches. - Since this the stairs were installed and our baths and cabinets have all been installed and the sparkies have done their cut outs in the walls and roofs. - Paint has apparently been completed (I will be going up tomorrow to take a look at this). Also, our light fittings are supposed to be completed by Monday aswell. - On Monday the tilers are supposed to be starting and then there will only be the Ceaserstone bench top in the kitchen to be installed and the garage door. I am starting to get really excited now just recently purchased dining table, tv unit, buffet unit, coffee & lamp table for the main living room. These are in a black woodgrain with tempered glass. I will be getting the glass fitted in the same colour as the kitchen splashback (Dulux - dulcet voilet) so they match and offset the grey tiles and cabinets. We also purchased a microsuade chase lounge in a charcoal colour. I hope it goes okay in the house. For upstairs we purchased 2 black leather futons and tv unit, coffee and lamp table aswell as a buffet unit in a light oak colour. Starting to get excited now as things are being completed. We have had a few issues with the builder trying to rip us off. I have decided that Builders assume that most people are stupid and will let them do and get away with whatever they want, what they have failed to realise with us, is that we made it clear that we have every available tradie as a family member or friend so we know when they're trying something *******. Word to the wise if you start to question something the builder has tried and you think it's not right get another professionals oppinion because builders will do anything to get extra money off you, know matter what. Have updated the blog for new photos if you want to take a look. Love it! Have you started packing??? Re: Building the NBG Buckingham36 in Laurimar Doreen 76Aug 25, 2010 4:59 pm Yes it is a rather large vanity, I think that's why I liked it. I always had small vanities growing up and as my sister's area hairdressers and beuty therapists we always had stuff all over them. Haven't started packing as yet I'm going to leave it for another couple of weeks or so (about mid Sep) as don't think we will be moving in until around mid to late Oct. Hopefully earlier but you just never know. Still to be done: - Wall tiles - Kitchen Splash Back - Kitchen Appliances - Kitchen Benches - Wardrobe/Linen/Pantry fit outs - Carpets - Storm Water drainage (can't do until the water dry's out around the house) - Fit out of all taps/shower heads etc - Bottom Window Mouldings That's it doesn't seem like heaps so I'm crossing my fingers. Went and priced up a few things at the *&%& Guys and HN and was surprised at the cost. So we priced up a Fridge, washer, dryer, microwave and 2 TVs the total came to around 5 grand. Any recommendations would be good but we looked at Electrolux for the Washer and Dryer, either a Westinghouse or Whirlpool Fridge (couldnt believe how bad some of the other brands ratings were), the new Samsung Microwave and an LED 40" Samsung TV and some no name branch 42" lcd TV. I thougt this seemed quite cheap and just a hint to everyone HN was much cheaper for the exact same stuff (i was surprised). Hopefully will go up on Saturday to get some shots. Here is the latest: - All the tiling is complete (incl. floors, walls, showers ect), sinks, toilets and caeserstone bench tops are in - All tap ware is in - Wardrobes have been fitted and linen/pantry complete All we are now waiting for is splashbacks, mirrors, showerscreens, kitchen appliances, carpets, garage door, window mouldings (which they did not complete) and storm water drainage. As long as the weather holds up I don't see how it can take that long, I'm thinking at the longest around 4 weeks hopefully less, starting to get really excited now.
