My partner and I are going to be building our home in Linea Weatherboard (similar to Hardie Plank). Does anyone know of any display homes in VIC built in weatherboard?
Just so we can have a look for ideas of colours.... etc

Does anyone know of any display homes in VIC built in weatherboard? Just so we can have a look for ideas of colours.... etc I'm not sure about display homes, but you can take a drive in Laurimar, Doreen. A lot of weatherboard houses there. We like weatherboard look as well. The one negative thing our builder told us about Hardie's cladding is that it's not as robust as bricks and you can easily break it with a sledgehammer. My Nanna has lived in a weatherboard house since 1976 and boards have never need replacing never been hit with a sledge hammer, been painted about 3 times and the house has actualy dated better than the brick home next door. And how about all those qlders that have been around for over 100 years......... We have built our house with hardies stria and rendered blue board, due needing a light weight construction, so we would have less excavation on our sloping block. All you have to do is make sure you insulate the walls.
