Your house plans look great and I love your facade too ~ it will be amazing to watch this house of yours go up. Congratulations on those trees coming down and all your approvals ~ all big milestones when you've been planning + waiting + waiting ~ since June 09 was it? I'm looking forward to seeing more! ~ cheers, J _______________________________________________________________ We're a knockdown | rebuild ~ Melb SE burbs Building modified version of the Fairhaven Glenaire Homeone thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28429 _______________________________________________________________ Re: Andy_Min Trees came down today! pic on blog 64Mar 26, 2010 9:06 am Quote: Congratulations on those trees coming down and all your approvals ~ all big milestones when you've been planning + waiting + waiting ~ since June 09 was it? Thanks for all the well wishes. We actually deposited on the land on the 4/4/09. So we are just coming up to the 1 year anniversary. The tree removal is the first real physical change to our block in the entire time. The developer told us when we deposited that the trees would be removed prior to settlement and we requested that in writing. The actual written response we got was that all trees "within the building envelope" would be removed. So what they actually did was take down a few in the middle but left all of the ones around the edges. Unfortunatley all of the one left fall within the boundaries of my structure. I can't wait for the actual building to start now. No more trees and no more stumps. A few more days of sunshine and the concretors should be able to get on with scrape. Met our other neighbours on site last weekend and they will be pegging out any day now. The street is a absolute frenzy of activity during the week and it will only be worse of the coming weeks with most of the street now having council approval. I will post updated pics soon and if I can upload the video somehow I will do that too. My evil giggle as the tree falls is my favorite bit. First tradie booked whos licence would be linked to the insurance had the change his licence at the last minute , so our building company got a new tradie only for the same thing to happen. So we are at the end of the 6 weeks it was going to take to get it fixed. In the mean time the building company has undergone a name change and needed to sort that in order to get Home Warranty insurance for us under the company name. Both the Building company and tradie should be able to apply for HW Insurance in the next few days. Who ever can apply first will do it. Our start date has been sent about 20 times only to not eventuate when the paperwork issues were not sorted. The concretors and builder are meeting at the land on Tue Morning and if HWI is through by then we may have a site start shortly after that. In the mean time my frame and windows are ready to go, sitting at the factory. We just need a slab to put them on. BTW, what happened with the fridge placement in your kitchen? Re: Andy_Min- Site Work Started :) 80May 21, 2010 1:11 pm Hi MH' We left the fridge on the back wall and added a wine bottle hole section between the fridge and the wall so the door would open all the way. Once we removed one side of the L (in the original design) and made the island bigger I was happy with the way the island lined up against the back wall. This design was also cheaper (with less unit and stone) so we could afford the glass spalshback in the budget, soft close on everything and glass doors on the overheads with special hinges that lock at any angle. I laughed when we finished designing it that in 20 years time people will say whats with all the drawers in the kitchen. The same way I laughed at the old bright orange laminate in our old kitchen when we moved in. The kitchen people wouldnt give us the official design but its basically the same that Andy did at work for me.
