Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 20, 2009 3:31 pm Hi all, Long time reader, first time poster ....This is an excellent forum. We're in the early stages of starting our house build, so plenty more posts to come I'm sure. So, I wonder if anyone can tell me which Brisbane PGH Display Centres are any good. There is apparently one at Oxley, Cooroy and Warana. Has anyone been to any of these and can you give me your opinion on which one might be the best? Thanks, Renee Re: PGH Bricks Display Centres 2Jun 20, 2009 7:32 pm Hi, We used PGH bricks for our build. We just used the colour selection centre at the builders display home but i do know that the Oxley display centre is brand new. They were still building it when i tried to go there back in about March. Drive past there everyday n it looks like it's finished now. Hope i've helped in some way Building the Brampton 195 with Coral Homes Re: PGH Bricks Display Centres 3Jun 20, 2009 9:01 pm Thanks Melza, that's great to know as I was going to go to the Oxley one tomorrow so I hope it's open We too will be building with Coral and we'll eventually be going to one of the colour selection rooms at the displays. Which display did you go to and do you happen to know which displays they are located at? Thanks for your help Re: PGH Bricks Display Centres 4Jun 20, 2009 11:47 pm Walker, We have spent many a drive up to Brendale (which I believe is eventually closing) and also trips across to Oxley. The Oxley centre is quite new/open and very well laid out. Its fantastic. The walls are so big you get a really good impression of what the house will look like. We are building with Clarendon and Using PGH- sandune/paddington. see pics in my thread Living in Caloundra Thread****** Lovin my house all finished!!! Now tackling the HUGE task of the Garden- viewtopic.php?f=31&t=14782 Re: PGH Bricks Display Centres 6Jun 21, 2009 2:26 pm Ok, so I went to the Oxley Display Centre (in the pouring rain, with my two children under 3 and my mum!) It's a really nice centre and has a mini golf putting area for children. All very nice if it wasn't raining so much I barely got to look at anything. I am really disappointed now, especially as Ozz and Melly mention the Brendale centre which I didn't know existed because on the PGH website it only mentions the other three and I conveniently live five minutes from Brendale!! Anyway not to worry now. Thanks for all your help Re: PGH Bricks Display Centres 7Jun 21, 2009 2:56 pm Hi, The colour selection centre is at Calamvale. We went through the redbank plains display but went to the calamvale display to do our colour selection. The redbank plains display houses the Brampton, which is the one we went with, and the Keswick. Calamvale has on display the Hamilton and the Norfolk series. Building the Brampton 195 with Coral Homes Re: PGH Bricks Display Centres 8Jun 21, 2009 3:19 pm One other thing I forgot to mention was the good thing about the older Brendale centre that they didnt seem to do at Oxley was the mortar differences They have walls that are half natural grey and half off white. Massive difference in the appearance of some bricks. This is a big advantage being able to visually see both side by side Built 36sq Plantation "Retreat" on 4460m2 at Spring Mountain, Qld In Living and landscaping.. >>> ... http://retreatspring.blogspot.com Re: PGH Bricks Display Centres 9Jun 21, 2009 3:28 pm Thanks Ozz, I'll definitely be going to the Brendale centre now because I'd like to see the different mortar and as I mentioned I only live five minutes from there. Thanks Melza, I guess I'll have to go over to Calamvale then, I just wish they had one on the Northside Re: PGH Bricks Display Centres 10Jun 21, 2009 9:58 pm hi walker, there a coral colour rooms at these displays (i have no idea what side is the northside so i'm going to list them all ) - calamvale - coomera retreat - hervey bay - kawana lakes - mango hill - toowoomba - ballina - coffs harbour all these display homes have a colour "room" set up (whether it's in the garage of the second house or in a bedroom) but the colour consults for your finishes appointment only seem to be done at calamvale i think also, here is the standard bricks as per the most recent colour booklet i have received... From the list of colour rooms you mentioned I think I will still have to go to Calamvale as I think the display at Mango Hill has closed now (anyone know for sure??). The "northside" just means the northern suburbs of Brisbane. We are still a fair way away from signing anything but I'm so excited about everything. Thanks for your help P.S. I follow all the H1 members building with Coral Homes very closely and just love reading your threads.
