It is really going along now.. not long to go now. Are you going to live in it? Or still just renting it out? Re: Elemist's build @ Byford - Lots of happy snaps 23/2/10 122Feb 23, 2010 1:49 pm Yep counting down! Will be living in it for at least 6 months to qualify for the FHOG, then after that will be however long it takes to buy another place Or if i love it i might stay for longer. You place must be nearly done now hey? Re: Elemist's build @ Byford - Lots of happy snaps 23/2/10 123Feb 23, 2010 3:29 pm elemist Yep counting down! Re: Elemist's build @ Byford - Lots of happy snaps 23/2/10 125Feb 25, 2010 11:52 pm Its coming along very nicely Elemist!! And i gotta agree re the bench space!! You've got to be thrilled with that viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Elemist's build @ Byford - Lots of happy snaps 23/2/10 126Feb 26, 2010 12:00 am haha yeah love the amount of bench space! and a reasonable amount of cupboard space too! Once i get the downlights installed after i move in it should look awesome! The painter and gas plumber have been back onsite. Hotplate and hot water system have been installed. Final coat on the doors and ceilings has been done as well. Plumber has been back to install the taps and connect up the drains, plus the toilets are now in, judging by the empty boxes out the front! haha Just have to wait for the rest of the finals to be done and i'll be in! Was hoping to get in and seal/paint the walls this weekend, but it looks like the plaster final is yet to be done, so might have to put it off to another weekend Anyone got any experience as to how much damage the carpet/floor laying people do to your walls. My SS recons it will be a fair amount and i shouldn't paint till after i move in. I'm thinking its a whole heap easier to paint before all the flooring and blinds go in! Re: Elemist's build @ Byford - Lots of happy snaps 23/2/10 127Mar 01, 2010 1:10 pm Looking great! When I was renting few years ago, the owners organised to put new carpet in after I'd signed the contract but before I moved in. The carpet layers took big chunks out of the plaster in a few places (even right up at head-height) and knocked off a few doorstops. It was a bit of a mess and just seemed careless. Not sure if this is normal, but it can happen! My tac-home-ter: Been in 8 months! Re: Elemist's build @ Byford - Lots of happy snaps 23/2/10 128Mar 01, 2010 7:16 pm Well i've just spent the last 3 days sealing all the walls. Absolutely shattered!
