Hooray :D:D I was out at the site a couple of weeks back and ran into the site supervisor for BPH. Very friendly and knowledgeable guy, so quite happy that he know's what his doing. He was telling me all kinds of things about when the slab would be going down, and when the bricking would start. So far he hasn't been exactly spot on, with his suggestion that the slab would be down Monday, or possibly the Saturday before if the tradies were generous. However it it didn't go down till Wednesday, so made quite a few disappointing trips out there to see no change Anyway's he recon's that the bricking should start tomorrow, though i don't have any bricks, shed, toilet, concrete, steel etc so can't see that happening just yet. He was telling me his trying to swing the brickies from a BPH in Millard way which is nearly finished over to mine. Apparently they're quite a big team of guys so should be quite fast! Suprisingly he was talking completion alot earlier than i was expecting, i worked off 22 weeks from site works starting which worked out to mid March, however he was talking January!!! But time will tell i guess. Oh and Byford Builders - which street/lot are you building on? PD and myself can add yours to the regular stalking/photo taking list for when we're out there. Any questions you have post them here and we'll be happy to answer them! Re: Elemist's build @ The Glades, Byford - Site Works! 69Oct 27, 2009 12:54 am Woooot Wooooo great slab you have there I completely forgot to go back and have a look after you said you were uploading the pics well it won't be too long now before you have your walls Building with Homebuyers Centre El Questro! But time will tell i guess. January are you SERIOUS!!?? That is SO soon! Did he mean lockup or actual handover? Far out!!! Something tells me you're definitely going to win the race!!! elemist I'm hoping not! It's a hard call between driving out there every day to see nothing happening, or risk not going for a couple of days and missing something! lol I know what you mean, my bf had to work late last night so we didn't make it past the block - I'm having a little fret that I've missed the bricks (or something else!?) being delivered! Of courseee I haven't but.... what if? Building makes you insane I've decided Or do you have to be insane to build!!!??? Maybe that's more like it Re: Elemist's build @ The Glades, Byford - Site Works! 73Oct 27, 2009 7:40 pm elemist I'm hoping not! It's a hard call between driving out there every day to see nothing happening, or risk not going for a couple of days and missing something! lol Know that feeling! I'm going away over Christmas / January and was thinking about paying my brother to go down and take lots of pics every few days! But that's just crazytalk! My tac-home-ter: Been in 8 months! Re: Elemist's build @ The Glades, Byford - Site Works! 74Oct 27, 2009 7:47 pm Hmm i think i could cope if i was away on holidays. My problem is that it's like a half hour drive each way, and fair bit of fuel. Also it's so disappointing to drive all the way there only to find nothing's changed since the last time you were there. Then again it's so exciting when you go and there's something new hmmm if only google maps was updated regularly!!!! lol On another note my window frames arrived today (or maybe yesterday!). Still no sign of bricks, shed or a toilet... It appears they may have done something with sewerage??? there's now a pipe at the front of my block, and 2 new pipes down the side of the house one near the ensuite, one near the main bathroom. Re: Elemist's build @ The Glades, Byford - Site Works! 75Oct 27, 2009 7:58 pm I can update you if you want. it's 30-40min each way for us as well, we generally do it twice a week. wed and sat if anyone wants to catch up. That's why I have employed the skills of SpyOne (Jpeg) who lives just around the corner... and just around the corner from his own build too (lucky!) I'll be having an exciting time in Cambodia and Thailand so I won't mind as much, but that will probably be around lockup time for me! My tac-home-ter: Been in 8 months!
