OH, NOOOOO!!!!!! It will begin the onset of mass molecular breakdown (dissimilar metal with the reinforcing) and your slab will crumble in a few years! The reason the tradies mentioned it is because it is good for business! AAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!! Only kidding. I hope it brings you mass luck. Great gesture allowing the handprints as well! And how lovely for DS to leave his mark for all eternity!! (At least your DS did proper flat handprints not like Master 2 who kept squelching the wet concrete through his fingers ) Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Jo's Bridgeport..... slabbed! 6/07 196Jul 07, 2009 7:25 am YAY for a slab, looks great I love the handprints, very cool. On our last build we were able to carve our initials in the corner of the loungeroom which was pretty cool but I might see if we can get the boys handprints this time Re: Jo's Bridgeport..... slabbed! 6/07 197Jul 07, 2009 9:10 am hooray! gorgeous slab Jo!!!! so smooth. How lucky that the slab was poured during school holidays so you and DS could watch it together. DS has very long graceful fingers he ought to play the piano. Thats always fun trying to get your head around the actual space... We also met a lovely man who lives on our street (and his 2 beautiful curly coated retrievers ). He built with PD as well (Heywood) and has great things to say about our SS. Our SS came to check on our slab and also went to the Marriott down the street. He is always around, it's great. The crew that poured our slab have done every PD house in our estate except two. They have a good relationship with the company and do a lot of work for them. Two of the workers had been at Point Cook boxing up before they came to help with ours. They weren't finished when we left... so of course I'll have to go up today and have a look and walk around. No idea when the framing will start, but I assume I'll have some action by the weekend. The Marriott is just starting on the top storey so maybe I'll get that crew when they've finished there? Hope so.... one of them is HOT! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself.
