Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 18, 2009 7:27 pm I'll start by bringing everyone up to date on the last two years. First this happened...... viewtopic.php?f=31&t=9005&hilit=Jo%27s+House Then this happened....... viewtopic.php?f=1&t=11076&hilit=lawyer And then today, this happened!!! I went up around lunch to find this! http://i519.photobucket.com/albums/u353/joles_photo/2009-06-18_13-38-32_18062009846.jpg The guys were great.... they asked me a couple of questions, flattened out a few areas for me rather than do a steep cut in and stockpiled all the nice topsoil for me at the back of the block. So I watched for a while, then had to come home to pick DS up from school and then we went back up and the truck was just pulling away. They'd just finished. Garage to the right, portico and alfresco further back. http://i519.photobucket.com/albums/u353/joles_photo/2009-06-18_16-46-47_18062009849.jpg DS in the deepest part of the cut on the edge of the garage. http://i519.photobucket.com/albums/u353/joles_photo/2009-06-18_16-47-39_18062009851.jpg The fill side. http://i519.photobucket.com/albums/u353/joles_photo/2009-06-18_17-01-49_18062009856.jpg Side view of what will be the driveway. http://i519.photobucket.com/albums/u353/joles_photo/2009-06-18_16-45-40_18062009847.jpg From the back of the cut to the rear fence.... our backyard! http://i519.photobucket.com/albums/u353/joles_photo/2009-06-18_16-50-38_18062009854.jpg And the floorplan! I was going to leave Mum in it! But as we drove in I could see just over the hill toward the block and I could just see the top of the digger and the top of the truck! So I knew it was our block or the one across the road.... I nearly wet my pants when I saw they were at our block! Thanks for the well wishes everyone! Nice of you to make an appearance TDL. Re: Jo's Bridgeport..... it started! 16Jun 18, 2009 9:04 pm You know what? I honestly didn't think I'd be this excited when it started! I feel so childish! Hels the block is 1639m2. The soil is pretty good. One of our other builders said ours was the best soil test they'd seen in years! And no rock at all thank god. I was pretty confident there wouldn't be but you never know. Oh and when I was leaving to pick up DS while they were still doing the site.... my SS turned up. I think he has been at one or another of the PD houses on my street 8 out of the last 9 timed I've been up there. Really happy I've got him.... the houses up there have been quite quick and he seems to be around a lot which is great! There's another Bridgeport 38 around the corner being bricked at the moment.... I'm wondering if maybe I'll get that crew? Bricks looks good on that house, so that would suit me. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself.
