I've been told by my SS that handover will be about 4 weeks. After handover I need to get the driveway, carpet, hard flooring and blinds done and get the light fittings installed. I can then apply for a temporary COO and do the landscaping after we're in. I've got a lot going on, including upcoming surgery, so I'm trying to pick someone else's brains to get an idea of time. The driveway would take the longest to do . And you need time to have that all done & dusted before the other trades traipse into your new house. Driveway 1st. THat could take a week - formwork, pouring, curing, etc... Then carpet 1 day or morning ? Floorboards Blinds I would get the lights done after I move in, to get in sooner. All up maybe 2 weeks at the most - I think.
