Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 17, 2009 1:59 pm Hey everyone, We are building a house with HBC in Butler and we are not far off the lockup stage. The roof is on, the walls have the grey plaster (I believe its called floating plaster?). I have been told it is the white plaster next & the ceilings then we should be in lockup. We are getting the front elevation rendered. When do they do this? Do they use the plasterer now to do it before the windows/doors go in or do they do this at the end? Thanks!!! Thanks heaps. For some reason I thought they would do it now. There is a house around the corner from us that just went into lockup a few weeks ago & they have theirs done. Guess that means their house is almost finished. Lucky ducks!!! Almost at lockup & just got engaged....What a great year!! Re: Just about at lock up...when do they Render? 4Jun 17, 2009 3:50 pm Well our house was rendered way before the roof tiles went on, so well before the 'grey float' on the inside was even started. I think as soon as the brickwork was completed, it was rendered. A long way before lock-up or handover! I think you will find that every builder is different and they do things their own way. The only way you will know for sure is to either wait until its done or give your builder a call and ask. 1 4697 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13781 |
