Terrence Malick Re: Need some advise for FHB in South Morang 42Jun 21, 2009 7:20 pm thx joles! looking for a recommendation on a contact for driveway and fencing? we need to get a quote prepared for the banks and its not included in the contract with the builders!! Re: Need some advise for FHB in South Morang 45Jun 23, 2009 8:48 am saga Thx newb's! we fell in love with this estate the moment we saw it Same! i like that it's so quiet and peaceful. Driveway was never part of the package, so dw about that...do u have to have exposed agg concrete too? i like the look of it, but not the price! hahaha And the free fencing is ugly anyway! timber fencing.. i want DH to stain them...just havent gotten around to doing any "outside" stuff in this weather! hahaha Re: Need some advise for FHB in South Morang 46Jun 23, 2009 9:06 am Thanks guys for the warm welcome. Saga, good to hear your moving along quickly. Can't wait to hear more about your build. There are so much inclusions that you get in the verve range I'm sure you'll be happy with. I really like the timber sliding doors with the alfresco. Looks so damn good Re: Need some advise for FHB in South Morang 47Jun 24, 2009 12:13 am yah K, its been a bit of info overload going through all the plans n terms we've never herd before! google's havin a OD on my comp these days wifey's going crazy on all the choices, but overall - its exiting and a bit scary as its our first time as well - might as well kick back n enjoy the feeling while it lasts! will keep you guys informed - thanks for all your advise and support folks:wink: Every advantage has a corresponding disadvantage.... Re: Need some advise for FHB in South Morang 48Jun 29, 2009 12:15 am Just signed the contract for the land yesterdy:) - land should be titled by oct/nov to build on.... got that funny feelin in my stomach reassuring myself I'd done the right thing.. but we are pretty excited!! BRING IT ON!! Re: Need some advise for FHB in South Morang 49Jun 29, 2009 7:01 am Congrats Saga - it looks like a really nice street. There are some lovely houses being built there. I wouldn't worry about the powerlines; by the time the houses around you are built, you won't see them in the distance at all. Looks like the road construction is moving ahead up there, so hopefully your settlement date is pretty accurate. I went for a walk yesterday, to check out what's happening behind us - a heap of temp construction fencing has suddenly gone up. Looks like they may be doing some preliminary work on the stage that joins up with Riverdale, via Barmah Drive. I'm guessing it's still a fair way off, but Jennings have put in quite a bit of work on their wetlands in that area. It's all shaping up really nicely. If you want a driveway quote, try Sudaro Paving - ring Mark on 0418 341466. Fencing, can't help, sorry. Re: Need some advise for FHB in South Morang 50Jun 29, 2009 10:25 pm thanks Kek, I agree and yah, had a look at the wetlands, looks nice !! I got a number for a person, but will definately try and touch base with mark as well and weigh it up - thanks for that! Does anyone know much about ducted vacum? is it worthwhile? would appriciate any advise thanks Every advantage has a corresponding disadvantage.... Re: Need some advise for FHB in South Morang 51Jun 30, 2009 9:13 am We thought about ducted vacuum, but there were too many other things to spend money on and in the end it didn't rate on our list of must-haves. If you decide not to have it, make sure you put plenty of power points in - We added extras in our entry, hallway and a couple of other spots, mainly to make vacuuming easier. From the rear hallway I can do all the kids' rooms, without having to rummage around behind beds or desks etc. And in our room, I have one near the door, again so I don't have to crawl under the bed or move bedside tables. Re: Need some advise for FHB in South Morang 52Jun 30, 2009 1:01 pm Thanks kek, its little pieces of specific info like this that is invaluable. I also wanted to raise a couple of questions [which other people on this forum might get some value as well] - installing a safe: I was advised by our consultant with henley that I was the first person asking this question hence they dont have that option, so there is either no demand for it or people do it after the build. would like to hear ppl's thoughts, especially the ones who have installed. - outdoor spa: is it feasable to maintain? pros and cons. The recreational value is well documented, what about the theriputic benefits?[kek might have a professional opnion on it] I love technology - imagine 8-10yrs ago, I'dve had to research all this info sitting in a library Every advantage has a corresponding disadvantage.... Re: Need some advise for FHB in South Morang 53Jun 30, 2009 2:30 pm Therapeutic value? Awesome! If you're after some muscle-pummelling, you'd want one with decent jets, placed just so.... but for relaxation and a good soak, any old kind would do. Can't contribute anything really useful about maintenance or value for money, as we don't have one. Re: Need some advise for FHB in South Morang 55Jul 16, 2009 1:15 am Gday ppl! howz it goin - been a long time between drinks....some update - we signed the contract for the land and have had the lot pegged ....rapt to see its on track also - had a color appointment today. We decided to go with Arena VK2 from the essence range with henley. The plans matched what we were looking for and in the end made the decision easy. Anyone else building Arenavk2 or any of the essence range with henley? would love to get some feedback - we've had a pretty good experience till date Every advantage has a corresponding disadvantage.... Re: Need some advise for FHB in South Morang 56Sep 13, 2009 2:54 pm Hello everyone, Just wanted to update we have finally penned the contract - YAYY! its for a Arena VK2 with Henley - and to say we have had a great experience till date is an understatement - hopefully it stays the same.....fingers crossed. Our case handler Rhianna - was exceptional and was very professional in setting up the tender and explaining everything in detail. So, all the paperwork is now outta d way and waiting on the release of the land to build. We've been told it should be avilable in november...the roads are almost done - anyone have any idea how much time it normally takes to release after the roads are completed? cheers Every advantage has a corresponding disadvantage.... Re: Need some advise for FHB in South Morang 57Sep 13, 2009 3:31 pm saga ......all the paperwork is now outta d way and waiting on the release of the land to build. We've been told it should be avilable in november...the roads are almost done - anyone have any idea how much time it normally takes to release after the roads are completed? cheers If they say November, it's probably November. There could be a number of things still to finish even when the roads appear finished - utilities, council or state planning requirements to comply with...all sorts of things. You might be lucky and get settlement earlier, but I wouldn't count on it. Congrats on signing the building contract. I'll be stalking your block before you know it... I do like to go walking over that way and have a good old sticky-beak at what's going on.
