Very impressed with Wisdom's tradies and SS so far, can't believe they did all this work with the ground being so wet. Now the pics... (hope they are not too many...) I can't wait til I also have piers! Looking good Jochicho! I must say, as a non NSW person, Wisdom seem a very impressive company. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. I must say, as a non NSW person, Wisdom seem a very impressive company. Thanks Joles! your block is looking fantastic too, nice big block too! We had about 60 odd piers, but that includes 15 extra reinforced piers to build over the sewer pipe... Wisdom keep surprising us with their work on site, I hope they keep the good work! How many piers did they do? Hi Lisanne, I think we had about 60 or a couple more piers, which is lots, but that includes the 15 reinforced piers we had to have to build over the sewer pipe... Yeah we extended the garage with the more for less promotion. Ended up being just under a metre of width extra. Need it to house my race car I said to Anita when they sell another prosperity in our design they can just send us a royalty cheque....I think she thought I was kidding! Building a Wisdom Prosperity 23 - http://erwisdomprosperity.blogspot.com/ Re: Building a Wisdom Prosperity 23 - Piering done - pics 72Jun 21, 2009 9:45 pm Nice toy! I bet it is lots of fun to drive! just showed hubby and he gave me a big smile! The alto facade is really nice (just checked it), does it mean that you'll have two garage doors too? (or 3?) and are you going to do render at the front too? we went for the capri and a portico... It means that we will have 2 doors but the lefthand side door is 1 and 3/4 size (I think, garages aren't my forte ). Apparently when you have more than one door you get a little bit extra room inside the garage. You can see it on the plan on our blog. Mark wanted to be able to have the car doors open when he works on it, it's just easier for him. As we have a big block, we have decided to put an extra double garage next to the existing one later on down the track. Spring farm streets are quite small so this way there is some extra room for guests to park when they come to visit. We liked the capri aswell, it was a toss up between the two. We are definitely going to part render it later on. Mark is able to do it himself (which is good). We are thinking the top half of the house (I have the colours that I like on the blog too). What part are you going to render? Re: Building a Wisdom Prosperity 23 - Piering done - pics 74Jun 22, 2009 9:30 pm princessfee Gosh, PALEEESE don't get him started on his racecar It's his baby. What part are you going to render? I could tell it was his baby! cute one at that! That's good that Waylow can do the render as it's pretty expensive otherwise... We are not doing any render as we got hit big time with the site costs so we just couldn't afford that too and with the Capri facade it shouldn't need any render hopefully... I can't wait to see it all come together!!! I can't wait to see it all come together!!! Yeah, he is my handyman, he is a carpenter but works in the glass and aluminium industry so I scored well I think . Oh really, What bricks did you chose? It's a nice house so it really doesn't need it. You'll love the fact that you didn't render the day when everyone else is having to repaint theirs. Can I ask how much your site costs were? Ours were ridiculous (as you can tell by the size of our cut) as we had to be a split level house. I can't wait to see yours get built. Re: Building a Wisdom Prosperity 23 - Piering done - pics 76Jun 23, 2009 2:26 pm Our additional site costs were about $21,966K!!!! as we had to get imported fill, a step, they reckoned we needed rock excavation, extra scaffolding (cause we are so close to the cliff, do 2 storey houses have to pay for extra scaffolding?), Drop edge beam (to contain the fill...), Building over the sewer, additional concrete pump and god knows what else... Yep, we got the lot! How much were your additional site costs? (do they compare?) We chose the Austral Symmetry Asphalt, they are a smooth face brick (an upgrade of course) so they should come up ok. Yeah, at least we won't have to paint the house! we'll have to paint the cladding though... Yep, you scored a good one with Waylow being able to do so much around the house! I think both our houses will go up around the same time, we only have a couple of days work ahead of you... I would also be questioning the extra scaffolding part, I am not sure about that one. Is the back of the house really close to the cliff? I can definitely understand the sewer bit (for extra piering, but you want that done right)...I must admit, I don't fully understand what all of it is for sometimes Ours wasn't too far off yours. All up, ours cost just under $17000. But then again $5000 is $5000 Our split level (for four steps) cost $7000, plus we had a H class slab classification and also extra excavation costs. I guess as you know, it all adds up. Yeah, it's exciting to have someone else building the same house as us, I guess that we will be the first ones around, so we can bounce ideas and problems off each other whilst building Fingers crossed this week for your home, it looked pretty muddy out there with your last photos. Yep, $5,000 still makes a difference as that could be tiles upgrades, waterfall edges in the kitchen, etc... for such a small house/block we really got hit! Ummm, your step sounds heaps cheaper than ours as ours is only 2 steps, do you step up or down? (do you get higher ceilings on the rest of the house?) where's your step actually? Oh, no, we only have the normal type of slab (M I think?) we didn't have to upgrade that, thank goodness, I guess the only lucky thing on that part... Yeah, it's great that we are both building the same house even though that they are quite different, we will certainly bounce ideas off each other!
