If rendered, what colours were you thinking of? New beginnings. Re: Alisgirl's build with Blueprint Homes- Formal Finance YAY!!! 47Jul 28, 2009 5:08 pm Quote: Is your front facade brick or render? I was thinking if I had a monumnet roof and timber look door, i would go for a medium grey and light grey render. But I am not sure if this will look any good, I keep seeing houses I like and they are never the timber doors, always colorbond, so I'm leaning towrads colorbond. It means saving almost $600 as well if I get a plain one. So perhaps a dune or light grey garage, and dune and another colour render??? Hmmm this one has definitely got me stuck. Shale grey would be a neutral light grey option. Dune if you want more of a warm grey. Windspray is slightly darker and cooler. I actually really like the look of surfmist for the main render colour & garage door, with darker greys as feature render. Doesn't really work with the dark roof though. Tough decisions! New beginnings. Re: Alisgirl's build with Blueprint Homes- Formal Finance YAY!!! 49Jul 28, 2009 6:18 pm I ended going both ways - Timber look garage and the front door in colourbond colour to match my roof. When it comes to render - There is about 1000 samples they will show you!! I ended up picking a few that I liked and went over to Solver (its just across the road from Blueprint) and I got a few of those sample pots and painted them up. They came up a fair bit different than the sample, so I think youre probably better off getting sample pots if youre unsure. Then I just sent them an email when I made my decision. (This also gives you a little bit longer to make up your mind!) At least you already have a rough idea of what you want though. If you're really stuck, go for a drive out through some of the newer areas and have a look at what other people have done...and if you've got the courage, knock on the door and ask them what colour theyve used! Just letting you know prestart was yesterday, took about 5 hours (and I thought I was really organised ) I went about $1300 over budget (I had a $6k prestart allowance)so will need to come up with that before we go to site but I'm pretty happy with everything! As for the render dilemma I ended up going solver grey smoke and solver graphite, with a caoba wood look garage door and a timber stained front door to match. My roof is monument and I have albany cream bricks (front of house is fully rendered though). I upgraded some door handles and bathroom stuff, got drawers on either end of the ensuite vanity, added heaps of powerpoints etc, got some nice pavers in the alfresco, and lots of other stuff. I'm loving all my tiles/cupboard/benchtop choices too. So I'm feeling quite good about it all! Oh and my settlement date has been moved forward to this friday Building with Blueprint homes, Perth WA Prestart complete, settlement 14/08/09 Re: Alisgirl's build with Blueprint Homes- Prestart complete!! 51Aug 12, 2009 6:46 pm Yahh sounds great. Yep settlement went through on Friday, yaaaaay!! Celebrated with some friends and some champers Nat- My colours were Ensuite: Scheme 8 from Blueprint, which is Laminex White Valencia benchtop (I chose mine in Diamond Gloss) and Laminex New Graphite for cupboards, white tiles with a slight marble look to them and the matching larger 'long' tiles in the shower. Bathroom: Formica Silver Strata for bench tops, Formica Snowdrift for cupboards. The tiles I chose are very similar to the Silver Strata (scheme 3 ensuite floor tiles), and the feature tile was the grey/green mosaic (Scheme . Kitchen: Laminex Catalana Marble (in Diamond Gloss) for benchtops, Formica Asphalt for cupboards, and a glossy white tile for splashback. Laundry: Laminex Roman Marble (in Diamond Gloss) for benchtops, Laminex pearl grey for cupboards, and scheme 7 floor tile (the chocolatey one). I wanted something a bit different for the laundry! So, now i'm just waiting on my final plans and contracts to sign, my final variations bill and of course the building license! I wanted the diamond gloss to start with, but knowing my drunken mates, someone would drag something on it and scratch it Is Butler still Shire of Wanneroo?? My building licence only took 3 weeks to be approved, so hopefully yours will be about the same. They told me at pre-start it will be about a 6 week wait, but when I rang them after 3 weeks they told me it was already approved. Might pay to call them, because Im not sure how long my file had been sitting there before I called to get it mailed out! Its all so exciting, knowing we're almost ready to go! I think the tile you've used in your laundry is what Ive used in my ensuite. I called City of Wanneroo yesterday and the lady said mine hadn't been looked at yet It's been in council for 4 weeks already! She reckons it was 'first on the pile' of ones to do though and that I should call back next week. I'm pretty sure the rangehood glass is clear.
