Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 09, 2009 6:54 pm By having expensive bricks on front, do you mean to have it on the whole front, or partly as a feature? Because Ive seen some really nice facades with two tone bricks, using contrasting bricks to create a feature. Like some feature brickwork on the front, like this house - http://www.carlislehomes.com.au/monaco.html . Look at that facade, and you can do render as a part feature like that, or instead of render, do a contrasting colour brick. I wouldnt do the WHOLE facade in a different colour.. it willl look odd! But if you do part render or part feature brick or both, it will look very nice! Depends what kind of facade... have you got a pic of it? Built the Atlantique 37 Mk2 with Carlisle Homes - WE'RE IN!! I have seen some really nice facades where contrast bricks are used in a small area (like a portico or blade wall) and they look fantastic. I think a feature in a dark brick works really well. Make sure you know EXACTLY what and how you want the front to be, and be prepared as to how different you want it to be. Have you got any facade ideas? Any facades you like? You're also the only person anyone here has ever heard of washing their garage wall. I hate to break it to you, there are insects and… 6 4808 yep you need a joint, foam is easiest, will look fine once rendered with a joint. 2 5229 |
