Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 09, 2009 3:23 pm We have our colour appointment tomorrow and I'm pretty sure I want the Austral Blackwood bricks, but because this is a fairly new brick there aren't any houses in our area that have been built with this brick. Has anyone seen this brick in a completed house or used it themselves? I would post the colour from the website but it really isn't a true indication! Thanks in advance! We were shown samples against Tan and Latrobe. Latrobe seemed to have more red in it, so we chose Blackwood. Tan has the black specks sprinkled through it, and so is darker, but Blackwood has the bluish variations through it. Then, a few days later, we couldn't remember what they looked like, so we visited Austral on the weekend and were given a list of houses to look at. Maybe you could do this too, even after your colour selection, so you get an idea of what the bricks look like? You're right about the website not giving a true indication. The bricks brochure is the same. Good luck with your selections! DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair to do it properly you need to dig out the garden and waterproof the outside of the wall.
