Hey Waranraz, This is actually correct. the first payment is for the slab, 2nd is for the brickwork, 3rd is for the roof, and 4th is plastering.... we have released the 4th one already..and the house is now in lockup stage. Re: BUILDING A NEW HOME IN WA 185Feb 01, 2010 2:27 pm Ggirl...progress payments can vary..im guessing waranraz financed through keystart same as me. Keystart require 3 progress payments rather than the usual 5 (being slab, plate hight, roof, lockup and handover). I know my progress payments are to be at brickwork to plate hight, lockup and handover. Given that the builder ends up missing the payment between plate height and lockup im not surprised they would request it a little early to keep the cashflow going to complete the Job. Re: BUILDING A NEW HOME IN WA 190Feb 03, 2010 2:03 pm YES! i am so tired of waiting....cant wait to move in!! Also because am following my build so closely, i guess i expect alot from the builder (in quality) of work and all. Maybe am being picky i dont know. but when you spend so much time on the house and money, you expect it to be some sort of what you had in mind. The next time i build (if i ever do) i will definitely have a lot of requests before prestart!!! yesterday we had a look at the house and there wasn't much progress. they have fitted the down pipes for the front of the house, and fitted the linen sliding doors. but i guess 2 items better than nothing! i'll posted pics of my floor tiles - http://ourpisceshome.blogspot.com/2010/ ... venly.html Siteworks 18Sep09;Footings 23Sep09;Slabdown 24Sep09;Bricks 30Oct09;Roof starts 2Nov09;Electrical wiring completed;Roof tiles complete; Int walls plastered;Ceilings painted; Ext walls rendered;door frames painted; Bathroom tiling nearly there! Re: BUILDING A NEW HOME IN WA 191Feb 03, 2010 2:24 pm Hi guys I'm glad to see you all making progress, even if you wish it was faster! We're about to get our contract and go through it and I wonder if you have any tips or advice for me? We're using the same builder as you waranra and G girl G girl have they offered to fix that crooked tile up at all? That would bug me too Its been about 4-5 months now since we paid our deposit, so I doubt we will be in before xmas 2010. But its a house we will live in for many years, so I am happy to wait as long as it is done to a high standard... ~*~Moved in on the 16th April 2011~*~ Re: BUILDING A NEW HOME IN WA 192Feb 03, 2010 3:52 pm G_girl YES! i am so tired of waiting....cant wait to move in!! Now i am worried again..most probably i will have the same tiler. You have to push them to resolve it. Put it has one of the items must be resolve or no handover. Write emails. Register them in writing. It is not safe and WILL cause accidents. Especially if you have kids running around. Or quote their building contract on tolerance for completed work. Hey zoe's mama:) Well, we will be meeting the SS on Friday so hopefully he will have something to say about it. Hmmm just make sure you have told them everything you want! finishings..and all. cause they will not suggest things to do.. such as mitred tiles, metal beads for the walls.... i actually expected my prestart lady to let us know these things but she didnt. So make sure you know what exactly you want cause you cant change anything later. Or rather it will be very hard to raise variations with them after construction has started. What design did you choose? As after that to get changes is pratically impossible. Wish you all the best. High Standard wise, you will need to watch them very very closely, have you thought of getting an independant inspector? Well anyways just things to think about. Re: BUILDING A NEW HOME IN WA 195Feb 03, 2010 7:14 pm waranraz G_girl YES! i am so tired of waiting....cant wait to move in!! Re: BUILDING A NEW HOME IN WA 196Feb 04, 2010 10:24 am Hi, I am wondering.. Did you have a 90mm PVC pipe installed in front of your house for Reticulation? I missed this out. My land purchase came with free reticulation but i have to install the pipe. My builder refuse to do it as an additional. As usual. Now i hope i can do it later....
