Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Prosperity in Spring Farm...the news is not looking good 641Nov 14, 2009 6:24 pm Hi Fee...How frustrated you must be,I'm feeling your pain.It looks like they are using that excuse because you are doing the shower screens yourself & didn't they use a similar one when you were doing the floors/skirting & the painters couldn't come back until that was done.Seems like they are stalling & using the fact that you are doing some things yourself as the reason. What the hell does shower screens have to do with it & why 3 weeks after...sounds very fishy to me.Your house seems finished to me & other people that built at the same time as you are in so why aren't you?? I really hope you are in before christmas as I know how much you have been looking forward to having that lunch at your home...It's just not fair!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway try to stay positive & hope your feeling better soon. The other day Mark asked him again and his answer was 'walk through is normally done three weeks after the shower screens go in' Gee, my shower screens went in on the 20th of September and my walk through was only this week! Re: Our Prosperity in Spring Farm...the news is not looking good 643Nov 14, 2009 8:25 pm He tells me we can't get OC without showerscreens. I can understand that, but afaik it is up to us to go to council to get it, not them. Every time I call it seems as if I am being a pain in the arse to him and he can't get off the phone fast enough. I'll be building my own house next time, should have done it this time too Re: Our Prosperity in Spring Farm...the news is not looking good 644Nov 15, 2009 9:09 am Forgot to mention, yesterday installed the RCD's in the electrical board for the floor heating and the extra power points that I put in, and turned the floor heating on for the first time. Re: Our Prosperity in Spring Farm...the news is not looking good 645Nov 15, 2009 11:51 am I guess it must be hard for you Waylow to be building with a project builder when your in the trade yourself.Your lucky that W let you do some things yourself as some won't even let you do that. It's good that you got to add some more power points as we did our electrical plan yesterday & those extra point sure do add up!!!!! Still think they are using your shower screen as a delaying tactic...very strange. Yep sounds like a good idea to do it yourself next time. We have a drop from our garage door and we will have to do the steps ourselves which our SS and Anita said could delay getting the OC but Anita told us that when we do them we just call the Certifiers ourselves and get then to come back out for another inspection. We are so greatful for W letting us do things around the house and understand that everyone wants to be in before christmas. We don't care anymore whether we are or not, BUT we do expect the courtesy of knowing what is happening with our home. buildingwithhamra Quote: . I guess that every builder is different with their times. gkj001 Sorry to hear the news Fee and Waylow. We have a drop from our garage door and we will have to do the steps ourselves which our SS and Anita said could delay getting the OC but Anita told us that when we do them we just call the Certifiers ourselves and get then to come back out for another inspection. I noticed that K and wondered who was in charge of putting steps there... We were under the impression that it was our job to organise the OC anyway. Well goodluck with it K. I hope that you are in soon . Re: Our Prosperity in Spring Farm...the news is not looking good 649Nov 16, 2009 10:41 am Sorry K, I am sick and a bit daft atm (okay, okay, I seem to be always daft ). I knew that you had the keys but I was unaware that you could move in without the OC. How is it going? I am not sure what the hold up is. We are thinking that it might've just been a slow week last week. J was probably busy with other jobs too. Now he might focus on ours this week. I still have a little bit of hope to be in before Christmas but I think that Mark has convinced himself that we won't be. The funny thing is that I always expected to be in the week before cos I always say that the world has a funny way of telling you not to take everything so seriously, that sometimes you cannot control everything and also what will be will be. The only thing that I seem to be worrying about atm is whether I need to buy a Christmas tree or not . I don't need one if it is just going to sit in the garage. Re: Our Prosperity in Spring Farm... 650Nov 16, 2009 10:48 am Anita said we could move in without the certificate. She said they would get a report from the certifiers and whatever items they have listed that need to be completed to get the OC, would have to be completed by us. Trying to move in over the weekend was not a good idea, I should have taken holidays. We are so tired at the moment and can't find anything that we need in our boxes. Silly me starting labelling boxes at the beginning of packing up and by the time I got to the end I couldn't be bothered anymore. And this is the stuff that we of course used the most, which is why it was the last to be packed. Stupid women, I didn't think about the unpacking part Re: Our Prosperity in Spring Farm... 652Nov 17, 2009 5:53 pm Woo Hoo congrats guys... bout time too!!! Re: Our Prosperity in Spring Farm... 655Nov 17, 2009 7:25 pm Hi fee and waylow, congrats on the PCI about time, also by the way we not have a OC cert atm. Our flyscreens were not completed so we couldnt get the OC cert. So at the moment we have no bins as cant get them until we have a OC cert. good luck Re: Our Prosperity in Spring Farm... 656Nov 17, 2009 7:26 pm Great news, guys! 10 more fingers crossed that it all goes smoothly Building a Wisdom Homes Impression 33 MkII http://lilypadintheponds.blogspot.com/ We have the keys! Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend the PCI as I have to work, but I get the impression that my DH will be just fine by himself . We tried to book our valuation from the bank but we are unable to do so until the house is complete, I am thinking that it is going to be very close before Chrissy . Re: Our Prosperity in Spring Farm... 660Nov 18, 2009 7:15 pm Action FINALLY! Carpets are done, all lock hardware is all fitted, wadrobes, pantry and linen fitted out, auto opener for the garage door is done, painters look to be finished but there is LOTS of work for them to fix, not happy at all with them, the job they have done is terrible to put it nicely! I'm hoping the showers get delivered on Friday, if not it will be a late night Monday to get them done by PCI.
