Does anyone have any idea when this is done? Who is responsible for this? Us or the home builder? What does it cost? We just don't want to leave it to the last minute if we can help it.

We bought a rural block in QLD and started with building a shed. Before the slab was poured we contacted a Sparky and he organised the Property Pole for us via a third party. We paid them $660 for the pole and the labour. We did the trenching from pole to the shed ourselves, the Sparky put the cable in, provided the meter box and contacted Energex in order to connect us. I don't know if the home builder is going to do anything of this for you, ours certainly doesn't. We organised the Treatment Plant and Water Tanks ourselves. Builders do pipes and cables up to 10 meters from the house and the owner has to do the rest.
