Has anyone used any of these? Hi - I had MAJOR brick decision dilemmas (between PGH Cement and Sorbetto in the end - see my thread for the long saga). We decided on PGH Cement in the end primarily because 1. solid colour (ie. not painted with slurry colour) so therefore no chipping and 2. suitable for future Moroka / render (the pre-painted bricks are not optimum for applied finishes I was advised). We are really happy with the decision now, especially now that I have seen the bricks built on the house next door. What other colour selections are you thinking of for roof, windows etc? My roof is Ebony slimline, Monument gutters; paperbark fascia and garage door, Taubmans forged iron paint on bagged facade. That sounds like a good combination. The rule of thumb (forgotten who told me now) I think is no more than 4 colours externally. You have 5, but I am sure it will look great anyway. Key is to get a Cement brick (or a few) and paint samples of the paint onto it. I was amazed how different it looked painted on (pics on my thread). You can see they are brown in the middle and have one brown end See I told my hubby all these random photos would come in handy!!! lol And yes I do love our bricks although in cleaning we have got some brown exposed.[/quote] The brick have a flash burn at one header end, the other end does not have this burn. Bricks are manufactured with one face and one header. The trades and builder should know what side is what. If they don't they should ask ther manufacturer. It amazes me that bricklayers place burned headers in the wall so they are visible. This can be fixed by using NAWKAW to permenantly stain the burned headers which should be done at the bricklayers expense. http://nawkaw.com.au/ Being a builder is more than just having once held a hammer.
