Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 01, 2009 2:03 pm hello everyone, Like most of us here in the forum, we are in the process of building our first home. Our land is a battle axe (there is house in front of us and we have our own access driveway. The houses around us are a bit old since we live in a well establish suburb that new lands are only those that have been subdivided thus creating battle-axe blocks. To the front is maybe a 1970s house (dark red bricks), left-hand side (sandstone finish) is about the same time or older, then on the right hand side (light reddish bricks) may be around 10-15yrs old. Exterior Color Selection I didn't know it was this difficult We have been driving around looking at combinations that we like and went to the brick yard to take a look. The info we got are: 1. Same shade for Roof Tiles and Gutter 2. Same shade for fascia, downpipes, window, and garage Do you have any other guide you like to share? We are likely to go for this combination. But not 100% final any suggestions will greatly be appreciated. Bricks - Austral Moccasin Roof Tiles - Bristile Redwood Gutter - Colorbond Headland Fascia / Gutter / Downpipes / Window Frames - Colorbond Paperbark Garage - we are ok to go for matching the fascia or something a little darker.. would you think that a wood-like finish on the Panel Lift Doors will look good in it? thanks! * i will try to post photos later on Re: Upper North Shore Building Adventure 2Sep 06, 2009 1:28 am Hi esm, do u have any pics yet? We are also using the moccasin brick and paperbark for gutter, fascia, downpipes, window frames and garage door. Only difference would be our roof colour, as we have chosen barramundi. I know what u mean about how difficult it is selecting colours...we weren't even organised at our appointment!! Our consultant wasn't very helpful either...seemed like she just wanted to get it over n done with and get us out! Anyway, have looked around at houses with similar colours and they look ok, so we're pretty confident that "I" have made the right choices.lol Our internal paint colours are flokati and kid leather Hi i am looking to buy an investment near by North Rothbury.
