We have our building contract coming up. Should we send it to them before to check? Should we get them to come to the signing?? I have no idea, can you tell Thanks everyone Land: Titles 27/10/2009 - settled 9/11/2009 House Design: Talbot 28 (Contemporary Façade) Estimated move in date April 2010 ... ok maybe June 2010 with any luck Site Start 22/01/10 - 20/08/10 Handover!! They also work out pro rata charges for things like rates. They liase with the bank for settlement and work out the disbursement of fees and stamp duty etc. Everything can pretty much be done over the phone these days, so just appoint one and send them the contract and they will do the rest. Edited - ^^ I was referring to the settlement of your land, but I just re-read your post. Not sure about the building contract side of things as we didn't use one for that. Re: conveyancer- what should we use them for? 3May 29, 2009 9:53 pm I got a solicitor who does conveyancing for my land settlement but my builder uses the standard HIA contract so there was no point getting them to check that 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' We don't check building contracts, only do conveyancing of actual houses, land, units etc. Not sure about other states, but I'd never really seen a building contract till we signed ours. Re: conveyancer- what should we use them for? 5May 29, 2009 10:08 pm we got the standard hia one sent to us - so once it comes to progress payments they will verify that it is time to pay, is that right? Thanks- they have seen the land contract, thats all done - just waiting for titles Land: Titles 27/10/2009 - settled 9/11/2009 House Design: Talbot 28 (Contemporary Façade) Estimated move in date April 2010 ... ok maybe June 2010 with any luck Site Start 22/01/10 - 20/08/10 Handover!!
