Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 25, 2009 6:23 pm Hi all, trying to decide on a colorbond roof shade, kinda liking dune, jasper and paperbark but nothing definite. I have been driving around the new estates looking at roofs and I am having trouble matching the colours to the tiny squares in my book! Any ideas where i can find better pictures, besides the colorbond website? Or better places to look? We got small swatches from the company that are doing our roller door (B&D doors) but then managed to get some bigger ones (about A5 size) from Stratco when we were looking at fence colours. That helped us heaps. Don't forget to take them outside into the sunlight too because they look quite different and that is how you will see it in real life. Perhaps, ring your local Colorbond centre and ask them for addresses for houses recently built with the colours your interested in. I did this today and found another new build in the colour l am after. Good luck! This shows the ads and brochures featuring different colours. http://www.colorbond.com/index.cfm?objectid=FF97D12A-C23D-69B5-53600FF4F7DFC3AD They also have a cool online colour visualiser. Don't get hooked though, you might end up spending all night there! http://colorbond.autech.com.au/onlinevisualiser/index.php?frame=residential Hope this helps a bit anyway. Re: colorbond roof drama- advice appreciated! 9May 26, 2009 1:10 am Go to a supplier with a sample of your brick and other colours and use their bigger samples to play around with. It helped me a lot. Then when I narrowed it down, I went to BGC and they cut me off some bigger pieces to take home because I acted crestfallen and then asked really nicely after they said they don't usually give out samples. thorney Yup, some of the colours can be very hard to determine exactly which Colorbond colour they are, but after you've seen a gazillion of them, you soon learn which ones are which! I feel like telling MYSELF to shut up now when my inner voice launches into "Ooh, nice Paperbark Gutters. And look at that Harvest fence! Oh no! That Sandbank roof with that colour brick... what were they thinking?!..." I feel that only with adequate counselling I may one day be able to drive through new suburbs with my inner voice only telling me "Hey, I want chocolate!" as it once did My tac-home-ter: Been in 8 months!
