We have an H class slab and were told the same ... i.e. the Alfresco and portico needs to be poured with the slab because of strength issues !!! Our standard plan did not have an alfresco and when we decided to have one, we had to get it included in slab design. Good for you Erin And fingers crossed for you Lisa ! Land Settled 27/04/09. Site Started 30/4/09. Slab poured 21/5/09. Frame up 27/5/09. Building thread : viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15699 Re: H Class Slab with PD - Alfresco & Portico included? 14May 25, 2009 1:52 pm We have an M class slab and didn't get a slab in the alfresco even though we were told by the sales guy that we would. One letter to the regional manager later and now we will! We were told that it would have been included in the site costs for an H class slab which is what everyone expected ours to be but it came back as M and no-one explained that this would make any difference. Felt like a major problem for a while but to PD's credit they have agreed to arrange the slab for us at no cost so we're very happy. Re: H Class Slab with PD - Alfresco & Portico included? 15May 25, 2009 2:09 pm That's great Wanna! Well according to my Documents on PD24/7 "Final Working Drawings Letter" was done today so I'm going to assume that they will be in the mail today and I should get them tomorrow! Lisa I hope I'm wrong **crosses fingers** but, they may only give the concrete to the part with a roof overhead, so you may get the portico but not the alfresco, but those that have the roof over the alfresco area will get it with the H class. Does that make sense? I hope I'm wrong though. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: H Class Slab with PD - Alfresco & Portico included? 17May 25, 2009 3:58 pm Visited the block today.. everythings been 'prepared' for the slab tommorrow.. although looking at the weather.. i'm not sure if that will happen. Good news is that it looks like the portico and alfresco will be part of the slab!! I did include the Alfresco as on option joles, so the roof part is included. Pictures will be up on my building thread as soon as i upload them.. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get the alfresco/portico slab too lisa! And well done wanna on getting them to include yours too. WOO HOO! BRING ON THE SLAB. Building with PD - Regent 23 Cascades on Clyde Estate HomeOne Building Thread - PCI Completed - 28th August. Re: H Class Slab with PD - Alfresco & Portico included? 19May 25, 2009 4:04 pm madala Hi, We are also building with PD, they charged extra for Alfresco(Approx$1500), not for the Portico. Cheers Welcome to homeone Madala! Which home are you building with PD? As you can see, it was only due to the H class slab we needed that these got included with us. We have fixed site costs, so they factored into that price, otherwise we would have also needed to pay the $1500 for the alfresco slab. Re: H Class Slab with PD - Alfresco & Portico included? 20May 25, 2009 4:21 pm Isn't the alfresco concreted for nothing anyways? I can understand paying for the portico, but surely not the alfresco??? If PD do it, make sure they have the concrete sloping away from the door, not into it, else you will get flooded like a few people I know! Does anybody who I can contact to adjust the portico on the ground to relevel the portico and roof? 1 831 The Soil classification has little to do with piers.
