Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 23, 2009 10:06 pm Hey all! I thought I'd start a thread, seeing as we have now gone unconditional and Pre-start is next week. My husband and I are going to be embarking on the building journey (finally) and are quite happy that things are finally on the move We currently live in a remote mining town (11 hours from Perth) where we have been for the past 5 and a half years, it'll be a big shock to get back to the 'burbs... we have two children, one on the way, a cat and a aussie bulldog. Block is in Yanchep, wayyyy past Joondalup. Ummm, don't know what else to say really. I am 8 months pregnant and taking both the children to Pre-start, as hubby can not get time off work Hopefully they'll be good. Went and looked at the block, was very happy called husband to say I was very happy and promptly burst into tears, yep pregnant me got all emotional actually being at the place where our future home will be Had Pre-start the next day, that went well. Had to change a couple of colours due to the bloomin' restrictions there are up in the estate, but overall extremely happy with everything. Had to call hubby a few too many times, to confirm things though. LOL Just got back home tonight, checked the mail and the mortgage papers had arrived, so had the FHOG, as well as stuff from the local council out there and also our settlement agent. Soooooo confused with the paper work and will be making a phone call to our broker tomorrow to talk it over. Not sure what we need to fill out and how, etc. Ok, so very tired, but thought I'd update here and now off to have a bath and then bed. Glad your prestart went well, ours is next Tuesday and I have managed to get myself really stressed. I think we have had too much time to think about our decisions (had the folder since late March) BUILT with Homebuyer's Centre - Aussie Alfresco Games viewtopic.php?f=31&t=16668 Moved In - Dec 14th Painting all but done - Jan 11 Front Landscaping - Feb 8 Moved In PICS Page 43 Re: Blues house in Perth. 10May 29, 2009 9:57 am Yayyy prestart done.. Home Group WA Monte Carlo Timeline on Page 1 Re: Blues house in Perth. 11May 29, 2009 3:44 pm Ok. Colour selections. Exterior classic_florentine_ls_a bricks.jpg tarragon_big roof.jpg Render to majority of front will be Taubmans Paperbark and the feature blade wall, garage door and double front door will be Colourbond Windspray (they will use Taubmans and try and get as close as possible) Gutters will match roof, downpipes will match as required (if on render will be coloured appropriately or against brick work etc) Window frames/sliding doors will be Moonglow, which is a beige type colour to match the bricks. We initially wanted as dark as the roof, but rules and regs of our estate won't allow them that dark and the only colours allowed were whites or beiges... Garage door is Centurion Georgian in windspray and the manual door to rear of garage will also be in windspray. Bathroom/ensuite windows in Spotswood. Pavers - beauty_swatch_charcoal.jpg beauty_swatch_grey.jpg Will come back later with internal colours. Curious really.. You cant build, a licence wont be granted. They can/will make you change to what they specify. it also voids any extra bonus' the estate throws in, ie landscaping. Make sure your color consultant knows the regulations. the estate always has the final say, so just because the consultant says yeah thats fine- doesn't mean it is. This happened to us in Yanchep. It sucks when you choose something then cant have it. Re: Blues house in Perth - ADDED exterior colours 16May 30, 2009 4:46 am Quote: Yeah just be careful if you change anything after the council has a look at it all and approved it the council is not spose to be approving anything before the estate does. (thats not say that they always comply, thats how we ended up in the mess we did) Re: Blues house in Perth - ADDED exterior colours 17May 30, 2009 9:02 am misscrow Quote: Yeah just be careful if you change anything after the council has a look at it all and approved it the council is not spose to be approving anything before the estate does. I can't actually imagine this very well because I don't know the tile colours (though recognise the brands!). Do you have samples? Crosby will give you samples of the main tiles and then charge $5 each for the border tiles (and you can get refunds if you take them back) My consultant wanted me to get diamond gloss for the bathroom benchtops but I didn't think I could handle the fingerprints and smudges. They look pretty but seem to need to be kept sparkly clean. I accepted ages ago that I generally can't be bothered with sparkly clean! My future kids will have great immunity My tac-home-ter: Been in 8 months! Re: Blues house in Perth - ADDED exterior colours AND internal 20May 31, 2009 5:56 pm Yeah I do actually have them here on the computer, was too tired to up load last night. Hubby likes the darker colours and to be honest I have found a love for them too. Just a bit different to the 'norm' I think.
