When do the actual glass bits for the windows go in?
Nah doubt it. I don't think the glass goes in till after the plaster has cured. Then it goes to lock up & they start putting in baths, tiles & benchs etc.

I so can not wait until that place sells, although we have had only one bite and then at the last minute he decided not to buy hopefully someone does soon. Dum dee dum dee dum....taps fingers....looks around....ok, well...I guess I'll go and feed the squidlets then House has been complete since Feb 2010 Moved in April 2010 Outside completed August 2010 Currently working on the inside, painting, blinds, furniture http://ourhouseinperth.blogspot.com/ Re: Blue's house in Yanchep 103Oct 11, 2009 1:56 pm where's your investment property? We sold our house 1week before christmas last year. Our house was spose to have been finished but it wasn't so we had to move in with my parents for 6months. We lived out of suitcases with our two cats. luckily they have a pretty big house but it was still a tight squeeze at xmas with my sister, her hubby & two kids, us and our fur kids, my parents & their psycho kitty. I feel your pain. after selling our place, turns out they gave us the wrong loan type so 2 days before xmas we had to come up with about $8000 to smooth out the errors. was a very stressful time. Re: Blue's house in Yanchep 104Jan 14, 2010 6:38 pm Hey everyone! Sorry for not updating this thread as often as most of you guys do, my blog has been updated regularly though. Just popping in to say that within two weeks we'll be having our FINAL inspection!!!!!!!!!!!!!! omg, omg, omg, omg.....so excited! We'll fly down just for the day, do that and then fly down again a couple of weeks later for handover, at the moment a tentative date of 28th Jan is what we're looking at. Just awaiting confirmation from our site supervisor. It's difficult, as we only have certain days we can fly down, due to hubby at work and kids etc. So fingers crossed this date will actually be set! Will let you all know!! We are going to be building in Alkimos, just before Yanchep. Titles are due to be released for our block in March so still have a while to go for us. But I have enjoyed reading about your build Building in Perth. Celebration homes Oasis. Pre-start complete 25th March 2010 Titles due April 2010 Re: Blue's house in Yanchep 112Jan 30, 2010 3:44 pm We flew to Perth on the morning of Thursday 28th Jan, drove up to Joondalup and stopped off at Trevors Carpets to quickly look at flooring options. We were quite pleased and surprised to find that timber laminates (click together floorboards) have improved drastically over the past 7 years (how long we've been living out here) and are actually harder wearing, have a wider variety of colours and finishes and generally look very nice. We had the foresight to bring our plans with us, so the nice salesman copied them and priced us up for timber laminate and also carpet for the four bedrooms (theatre will be left, as we would like to put in a false floor a few steps up). All in all, the prices are well within reach for us to get the flooring done prior to moving to Perth, which is a very good thing! Ok, so after a very quick visit there (half an hour) we headed up to our house! As we drove up our street, the first thing I noticed was the absence of the garage door and the roller door through to the back garden. Apparently they were ordered last year and were meant to be in place, but we have been told they should be in by the 4th of February. The house itself is very nice and we are so happy and in love with it There were a few minor things that need re-doing and/or replacing which is disappointing, seeing as it is a brand new house. Our bedroom door is on a peculiar angle and won't shut properly and has a crack where the latch is. So it will be replaced. The soap dish in our shower has a large chip and there is a portion of grout missing from one corner of the shower. In the kitchen, there is a scratch on our counter near the oven, which unbelievably has to be discussed with our site supervisors supervisor! Go figure. Also our oven has a chip in it, now I wouldn't purchase a brand new oven with a chip in it for full price, so they had better come up with something good. Either replacing or money back...Again, this apparently needs to be discussed with a 'higher person' *eye roll* I am in LOVE wth our pantry, which is HUGE, I am so looking forward to stocking that with all of my appliances and pots and pans etc. The dining area and family room looked great. ALL the windows in our house need attention, from the little holes for the locks, to the bigger task of having at least one whole window being replaced, due to there being a large dent at the bottom (in the metal) grrrr.... The kids bedrooms are small, but we were expecting that, as this is our first house we didn't want a HUGE house with huge mortgage LOL The kids bathroom, well for some reason there is a CREAM coloured soap holder in their shower...another 'what were they thinking' moment for us, so that will be replaced. I am very happy with the tiling though. The laundry and toilet are both great too. Outside, some guttering on the side of the house near the family room will need doing again, as it is somewhat out of alignment and dented through the middle. Also some paint is missing from behind one of the downpipes. Our driveway needs some paving re-doing, my husband is going to have to put some concrete down I think, for the edges, as they don't seem to have done that. When I put the photos up, you won't be able to see (because my husband had been playing with the camera settings *sigh* and I didn't realise, so the outside pics are VERY bright) but our front garden area is quite high at one point, so we will need some form of retaining wall. All in all, it was a good trip down to Perth, the kids were fantastic, but I doubt we will be doing a day trip again! It was a very rushed and hectic day! So glad to hear that the day went well!! I'm STILL tossing up between that nice click lock flooring and tiles... my only hesitation is the kitchen... i deal with just too many water damage claims for me to be 100% about any floor apart from tiles in the kitchen!!! gggrrr... *sigh* Anyway, your new home is looking FANTASTIC blue!!! Are you really pleased with it? I'm glad to hear that your PCI went well and that there were only minor items that need replacing (fingers crossed you get a NEW stove put in!! I certainly wouldn't be buying one with a scratch in it, unless i was getting a massive discount!!!) So not much longer for you now Yanchep is a beutiful place too. We used to go to the Yanchep National Park all the time when we were younger, i must take Elijah there for a picnic one day viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. I hope they fix the errors pronto.. how annoying they have to ask about things that should be obvious to be fixed. Re: Blue's house in Yanchep - final inspection!!!!! 116Feb 02, 2010 7:03 pm Yet again our CRO has done nothing. I emailed her to see when we find out about the oven and bench (amongst other things) but seeing as those need to be 'okayed' by a higher power we'd really like to know before handover...you know. Anyway, she has, quote 'bin really busy' and will have to get back to us tomorrow... Oh gawd.... I seriously hope we get a customer satisfaction survey to fill in once this has all finished. I will definately be on to them about her service (lack of) and also the Site supervisor being unable to answer the basic of questions. Everyone else was awesome! Re: Blue's house in Yanchep - final inspection!!!!! 119Feb 12, 2010 2:39 pm Lancebishop I don't think I like you guys already.... Hahaha that's exactly how we feel with our neighbours sometimes we both put slabs down at the same time and we want to beat them to handover, but progress has been neck and neck. Whenever they're ahead we get all grotty and petulant but usually by next week we'll be in the lead for a bit and suddenly we don't feel so bad Re: Blue's house in Yanchep 120Feb 12, 2010 6:44 pm MNH Hi Blue, Just checked out your blog. Hopefully you're not too far away from the titles being done now. Lancebishop Pretty nice looking house inside and out. I like your big bathrooms, my Ensuite is tiny. And you have a double entrance you lucky people. I don't think I like you guys already.... Thanks, we love it. I am so glad the colours go well with each other, I was 33 weeks pregnant at the time of picking colours and worried whether I had made the right choices LOL Hubby and I had already picked them, but when we got to the pre-start, some of them weren't allowed due to the strict rules of our estate Paid extra for the double doors LOL and I think they look nicer on homes than single doors. we really are nice people though hee, hee, hee! kirsada Your house is looking lovely, congrats Good luck with getting the issues resolved, and then the BIG move Thanks hun!! xxx Well we keep trying to find out if anything is being done about our two main issues - being the counter and the oven and the same reply. You'll find out at the final inspection. WTF!!?? If we get down there (flying down again and *oh gawd* doing another day trip.....) and nothing has been done to them I am going to be MEGA peeved!! We have got the confirmation for final inspection on the 18th Feb, so going to do that and then hopefully the account has been cleared and we can pick up our keys.
