Just came back to see if you've updated with good news, and I'm opening up this thread on my notebook so my wife, who stayed home sick today, can be cheered up a little. It was exciting to look through, follow your progress and calculate that if our Henley house is completed at the same rate, we could have settlement before Christmas! I'd so love to move in during January, if we can deal with the holidays for suppliers of flooring etc. I'll have my children to help move, and it is my easiest month of the year! Pfiff Finally making progress again, with a clothesline (yippee) and some much needed little things being attended to over the holidays. 40 C on New Year's eve? We love our a/c! Am so glad things are going well for you FULLY....... unfortunately for me and my partner, we have had so much problems with H3NL3Y that we decided not to sign the tender...... As 3 days before the tender stage they told us our house will not fit on the land..... WHAT THA??!?!? Making us miss the grant.... stressing us out...... and we have already done all our colour appointment and electricals. hate the game of passing the blame onto everything else but yourself.... then i started surfing the net for more info and found so much negative feedbacks on the company and their building that now i'm too scared to want to build with them. we are still deciding while i'm still running around looking at all other option builders..... this is so stressful and such a bad experience for a first home buyer...... will see how we go anyways...... would love to build a nice house on the nice land we bought in Alamanda..... Sorry to hear about your experience QueenB... we have had a fantastic experience building with Henley but as i have said previously it depends on who you deal with within the company, also you will read alot of good and bad about every builder more so the bad as people love telling horror stories... at the end of the day my theory is to go with the builder who builds the house that suits you and your block! Fully glad to hear all went well and hope you are enjoying your new house! 2nd build here we come in Whittlesea! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=92617 1st Build - Henley - Cooper in Doreen! Thanks Cindy, I feel like death warmed over, grrrrrrr moving haha, but otherwise all good. good luck with your upcoming settlement. Re: Henley house settlement today 11/09/09 Fingers crossed!!!!! 93Sep 13, 2009 7:49 pm Hey CiNnY, Your blog is great and i wish experience if ever contracts are signed will be as yours. and so is Fully's i still cant compare h3nl3y's furnishings with other builder's hence still having them first in mind.... but its just so bad i never want my experience to later onwards be like all the horror stories i have been reading for the past few days!!!!...... ITS HORRIBLE AND SCARYYYYYYY........ who did you have as a site supervisor? i am calling them again on monday and giving them a beautiful piece of my mind after more stuff i have found that made me more upset with their pass-the-buck-to-everyone-else-but-themselves reasons. and the people i dealt with never told me of site costing coming up to that high. the sales representative just said since they have built houses there the site should be fine and the M-class slab is sufficient!!!.... Hmmmmmm..... rite...... i'll prolly be smacked with a massive bill later on..... will see how we go i guess... what a big starting ordeal!!!!! QueenB Re: Henley house settlement today 11/09/09 Fingers crossed!!!!! 94Sep 13, 2009 7:56 pm Where are you building Queen B? That's seems to make a big difference with Henley.... Getting to contract stage was extremely painful for us but since we've had site start everything (so far!) has been smooth sailing. Getting to contract stage was extremely painful for us but since we've had site start everything (so far!) has been smooth sailing. We were going to build the Lexington Q1 and was told to downgrade to Q2 for their mistake which seems to be passed to us in the end...... everything has been painful to me and worst 3 days b4 tender of "oh the house wont fit".... that was the big one... and i've heard as well they are not that flexible on structural changes as other companies....... glad yours had been going great so far.... i just hope mine will start .... anytime will be good!!!!.... QueenB Re: Henley house settlement today 11/09/09 Fingers crossed!!!!! 96Sep 13, 2009 8:19 pm Hey fully - congratulations your finally in your new home!!! We're doing the same thing as you - a house and land package with Plantation Homes (Henly) in QLD. We got to pick our colours and all that too - from a set of schemes. SO much less stress!!!! I'm wondering if you could give me an idea how much longer our house has to go - it's finished being painted, kitchen & bathroom cupboards installed, floor and wall tiling finished, and the fence has started going up. So really now all they need to do is the plumbing, electrical, flooring, carpet, driveway and patio, and landscaping to the front!!! I'm hoping it won't take longer than 3 weeks - what do you reckon???? Re: Henley house settlement today 11/09/09 Fingers crossed!!!!! 97Sep 13, 2009 8:42 pm I dont get how that works...the house either fits or it doesn't . All the setbacks on the land are normally fairly obvious on the contract and known prior to buying the land. Do you think it fits the building envelope? What did they "miss"? All the setbacks on the land are normally fairly obvious on the contract and known prior to buying the land. Do you think it fits the building envelope? What did they "miss"? What they missed is using their brain to make sure they measured it properly. And why they actually took that long to get it measured properly on the computer systemAs i went to other companies who did the drawings by hand and ruler and got it rite.... its just like i said, needing to pass the blame to someone else. Now at the moment, it fits but is on the back easement. so we cant have it that way. and they said to flip the house to the other side and to do that i have to pay the cost of rebuilding and transferring of the storm water pits to the other side and council costs as well.......
