Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with mcdonald jones 6May 24, 2009 11:56 am We built twice with them I have listed a rough calender of events for the pre construction process from when our $3000 first payment was made Week 1 Tender accepted $3000 paid Week 3 Advised by builder by email that Soil class cert and contour completed Week 3/4 Received final consolidated tender with deposit variations/cut and fill and slab design confirmed.... for approval Week 4 Signed off on consolidated tender Week 7 Colours selections wth their Int Dec (full on decision day) Week 8 1st drawn Plans emailed and posted to us... we returned approved with comments re minor descrepancies... submiited our plans to lender for valuation and official loan approval Week 10 Basix approval sent to us with contract /amended plans/colour selections Week 11 Contract signed by us Week 12 Advised by builder plans submitted to Hunter Water/PSSC (Council) Week 15 Plans approved CC received ..email received from builder advising council conditions and looking for bank letter authorizing commencement of building... I was the loans manager so no hold up there Week 16 Electrical appointment... stress session... supplied LOC from bank Week 16 Advised by builder that our job was on builders start list .. materials were being ordered and they would be on site within 28 days Hope that helps...I won't talk about the builder as there are some rather rude people on this site who resist good experiences being expressed about their builder Life is an enjoyment, enjoy it Hi AKG, We had a base tender of $592 for 31 squares from MC Donald Jones.
